people who only likes NICE laptop so be it, but it usually wont last long but a black ugly laptop like thinkpad are the best, they are the most durable and long lasting especially those that was made under IBM and not after lenovo took over
I'm buying an "Off Lease" Thinkpad T43 in a few months from this site in Australia. I live in Australia and brand new laptops here are expensive. Used (off-lease/refurbished) are just as good as new ones.
Hey bud, I just ordered this from tigerdirect for an associate of mine. He' s a really good mechanic and also ASE. * IBM ThinkPad T60 2007-CL7 * Its nice ordering from TigerDirect because they have a warehouse in Naperville, IL and I'm in Peoria, IL. I get shipping very next day when I place an order the day before. Also, I talked with tigerdirect reps, they had a meeting with lenovo and they will be getting more inventory of IBM ThinkPads and Lenovo Thinkpads refurbished type items. :D
I have the IBM T30 model and I have to say that it is the most durable, most comfortable and of course the best keyboard out there. How long does the battery last for when using word processing?
a lot of laptops these days are not made to last more then two years. however, i don't know to many people who can afford to go out and buy a laptop every two years. i had a dell inspiron e1505 up until may of this year, it lasted me just under 3 years, but the screen bezel started to separate and i had a crack in the white trim in the lower right corner. it had to get the motherboard replaced and the battery in my first year of ownership of it. i had my thinkpad since apr of last year,i love it
please do enlighten us about the quality of thinkpad under lenovo and under ibm. One thing is for sure that the t4x series is a seriously weak thinkpad when it is open compared to the lenovo thinkpad. Where as the lenovo thinkpad has the internal magnesium rollcage whereas the previous thinkpad had to use the composite polymer for chassis support.
Yes it isn´t pretty but if you need a laptop with awesome ergonomic and reliability you have to buy this one! And yeah... For 300 bucks you can only buy a netbook which will fall apart after several months of usage.
They did it on purpose. The Thinkpad form conceived by famous designer Richard Sapper is based on a Japanese bento box which is black and square. The T40 series is the last one designed by IBM and its build quality is crazy nice compare to the current cost cut Lenovo rubbish (I have taken them apart to find out).
yes its a think-pad, they are not made so much for looks but for durability and reliability. think-pads are for people serious about getting work done. not for people who just want a pretty laptop.
I also just bought an off-lease T43 through TigerDirect, only mine has a 1.6ghz Pentium M.
After a series of crappy laptops that quickly died or fell apart, I wanted something that would actually hold up over time. IBM/Lenovo Thinkpads have a reputation for being some of the toughest notebooks money can buy, only they're usually well out of my price range.
I picked mine up for $329, about the price of a netbook.
can someone please tell me how to open the keyboard on a ibm think pad t23 type 2647

Hi, What are the specs of the lappy?
Is 14.1" widescreen display?
Will it support W7?
Thanks!
jodase01 2 years ago
40gb hd, 14.1" screen. (not widescreen), WIFI, 1.5gb ddr ram, dvd-rom drive, 1.7ghz intel pentium centrino
yes it will support Win 7, in fact i think there are a few videos here of exact model with Win 7 installed & review

@jrus1
Thanks for the reply =)
I'm tempted to buy one of this, they're pretty cheap nowadays, I only use office and internet, that would be a good laptop for the "on the go"
I have a T61 and I love it, but maybe I want to invest in a T43 to tote around.
Do you know if this came with a widescreen version?
jodase01 2 years ago
Nope. Sadly no widescreen versions were made.
Go out and get one anyways..it's a great machine!
