During this time, Odysseus tries to prove who he really is and he succeeds

Was mighty Poseidon angry at the illegal upload of this movie or did the movie itself upset him? Whatever it was, there is earthquake all the time, so Poseidon must have been pretty angry for some reason! Anyway: I am still waiting for someone making a movie of the Iliad and the Odyssée in the way Lord of the Ring was done bit without to much spectacular fighting acrobatics in it! This version is somewhat decent and includes at least the Goddess Athene properly what the Troy movie does not.

@wario6010 I'm sorry to say this. But Hollywood is making a movie off Odysseus (not the Odyssey). It takes place when Odysseus comes home after his 20 year journey. I read the script and it is nothing like the epic poem. Telemachus is now a angsty teen with daddy issues (oh and he's almost a villain in it). Antinous (or however you spell his name) taken over the kingdom (yes he's the main villain). Spoiler alert: Pelelope dies. F-ck you HOLLYWOOD!

armand assante was perfectly cast as odysseus in this made for tv version of the epic by homer. great scacchi was fabulous as penelope

as well. a great supporting cast with geraldine chaplin, irene pappas, and christopher lee also. overall a great effort even though there were some crimes committed against the original storyline. a far better movie than the other recent movies of classics troy and alexander come to mind as being poor efforts! a great job by andrei konchalovsky!!

it is just my opinion but the movie alexander was a lousy movie to me because of angelina jolie and oliver stone.

as for troy large portions of the movie were changed from homer's the illiad which made it a rather poor effort.

the iliad is NOT the story of Troy- the iliad starts in the 10th year of the siege of troy and there is no wooden horse in it...the iliad finishes at priam´s successful request of taking back the body of his son Hector from Achilles. Achilles does not die in the book and Troy does not fall.
