  • Absolutley WONDERFUL!!! i love playing ukulele as well and im getting alright at my chords and abit with scales but i just have no idea how to solo or play little licks if i want to play a blues or something, Any advice? and i want to upload to youtube some stuff i play aswell but when i tryed it didnt upload any sound so how do you do it? very interested to know and keep it up!

  • @XoImpact Thank you! Well, a blues in the key of A (this one is in C) is probably easiest to start with. I tend you use a lot of the licks I play on guitar, but I bet there are a lot of resources for blues tabs out there. About the uploading I have never had that problem. I usually just record with the built in webcam or with my iphone. Good luck!

  • "i like this guy. He is my brand of cool." This is what my fiancé says after watching this vid haha. Great job! Happy New Year!

  • @faithtruthlove07 Ha ha! Thank you very much! Hope your 2012 will be great too!

  • Damn now you got me watching all your vids again. You sure got the blues down :) Absoultely love it!

  • @jsg072 Thank you! And sorry for stealing your time...

  • fantastico!!!

  • @BlugeoSRL Thank you!

  • That is sweet! My buddy and I have been working on this one. What key are you playing in? I think Robert Johnson's is in E. Are you in F?

  • I've now seen all your videos and if you had a cd I would buy it. I play guitar and I'm thinking of getting a uke just to play blues; so I'm asking which seize is your favorite.

  • @txkj53 Thank you! You should buy a uke - it's great fun. I mostly play the little soprano, but that doesn't mean that's best for you - try em out for size!

  • @BaronK69 you really should be looking into recording contracts, do you have a manager? you really have a great voice, I'ts real unique, and you obviously have the skills needed to perform on stage, do you perform much? perhaps you should look at doing Gigs with a band (if you're not already) and post a few vids playing live... Sorry mate, not to tell you how to live your life, I just think you have a talent that should be persued professionally...

  • @motiontechnology Me and my buddy Heavy, who plays the bass, have a little two man band called Heavy Baron and we perform quite a bit, but only with covers so far, so we don't a recording contract. Check out my later vids and you'll see us play together.

  • Baron your really good. Since your playing a soprano uke I take it that the tuneing is standard c. Do you find it difficult switching to guitar which has a different tuneing thus different fingering.

  • @txkj53 Thank you! No, I don't have any problems with that, but I do get mixed up when I pick up the mandolin since I don't play that very often.

  • Excellent!

  • @waynehansen999 Thank you!

  • This Chicago boy loves it!

  • @ukedaman Glad you do!

  • Still very good. Started my day great! :)

  • i abused the replay button!

  • @littlegull I dont mind...

  • this is great ! :) do you have a tab for it?

  • @davidmortiboy Thanks man! Sorry, I don't write tabs, but it's a blues in C, with F and G.

  • @davidmortiboy Thanks man! Sorry, I don't write tabs, but it's a blues in C, with F and G. (F7 and G7 alt.)

  • did not expect that. fantastic man...cheers

  • @brooksb12 Thanks man!

  • I'm starting playing the uke (option blues, for sure !), and would like to play the same way!

Actually learning "You gotta move", but for the voice, a tone under !

I'm kidding, cause baryton voice ;)

THX for this good job ! ! !

(If any mistake, scuse, I don't speak (or write) english every day . . .

  • WOW. probably the best robert johnson cover ive ever heard. and thats including eric clapton and the stones!

  • @chriskimforlife Man, thanks for that compliment!

  • Oh wow.

  • @UkeIndy Cheers!

  • Nice Work, you rock those blues all the way home.

  • @ukemonster Thanks man!

  • Robert Johnson would be proud.

  • @ukulelesinger Thank you!

  • Great cover, nice uke play, and your voice is almost like a black guy's voice :). At least it really matches to this song.

  • Thank you! That's about the best comment I could get.

  • You're welcome, I really mean it. If you come to Hungary, don't forget to bring your uke, so we can play something together :). (I play on bass and keyboard.)

  • Whoa.... you just BLEW my mind. The uke has never sounded so good.

  • Thank you very much! Glad you think so.

  • seriously get a sixpence, a mic, a pickup for the uku and a band, i'd be more than happy to see you play, keep up the greatness ;)

  • Thanks! I have a band, at least a bass player, and we gig quite a bit here in Stockholm, Sweden. So whenever you're around...

  • haven't been there in over 10 years but the next time i'm there i'll come and see you guys play for sure :)

  • You're a force of nature Baron. Instant fav!

  • Thanks James - I appreciate it!

  • Very well done. you always do the blues so well.

  • Thanks - that means something coming from the bluesuke!

  • Nice one Baron! I'd love to hear you play 'Darkness on the Delta' sometime

  • Thanks Ceska. I'll check it out...

  • Liked the slightly laid back relaxed feel to this. Kind of rolls along.... like it should.

  • Thanks Pete - glad you like it.

  • sweeeeet! :D

  • Thanks Kenny!

  • awesome love this tune.

  • Thanks Gray!

  • got som hot licks in here, baron!

    really enjoyed it!

  • Thank you Christoph!

  • Mmm, Banana Juice!

I'm telling ya, you don't need an old Martin when you have that baby. Awesome sound!

you've always got a place to stay in Indiana.

  • Thank you Alan! It does sound like an old Martin, doesn't it? I would dare bring it to Indiana though, since I know you're a sucker for small intruments...

  • Excellent - this song gets played to death at jams over here, but it never sounds this good :)

Never knew there was a Billy Johnson...

  • Thank you Caroline! Roberts brother Billy, or BJ, got famous for something completely different...

  • I'm really really loving that Kiwaya in your hands! You really make it sound great, and everything you play on it is awesome. This song sounded perfect on it, and sounded perfect with you singing and playing it.

  • Thank you Michelle! I'm loving the Kiwaya too!

  • Are you sure you're not Robert Johnson in disguise?

  • OK, I admit it - I am a 105 year old, 90 lbs, african-american blues artist from the mississippi delta. But you have to give it to me - I had you all fooled. Most of you thought I was a 40 year old, 200+ lbs swede!

  • Hang on, Mr. Johnson, we're coming for you! Whatever you do, don't make that big swede angry!

  • Quick & dirty- why, that's just how I like 'em! And yes, I do wanna go.

  • Ha ha - thank you Adelle! Quick n dirty's my middle name!

And I wanna go too - to Indiana! (booking flight later this week I hope)

  • Oh yeah!

  • Thank you Ray!

  • you're my hero.

  • I'm honored!

  • Buddy Gay smoking`

    good cover

  • Thank you!

  • One of your best blues videos, R. Perhaps the best. Sounds just right on the Kiwaya.

  • Wow, thank you Ken! I'm glad you think so. The Kiwaya sounds just right for anything really.

  • Wonderful pickin' and singin'!

  • Thank you!

  • Thats toe tappin' good man!

  • Thanks, glad you think so.

  • Great job with this, love the way you switch between the shuffle rhythm and the quick triplet stuff on some of the fills. Lots of people think playing the blues is just that one beat... da da Da Da etc.. but people like Johnson were doing all kinds of cool stuff with the rhythm back in the late 20'S, awesome stuff!

  • Thanks man! Yeah, you can't be to rigid about beat and stuff. But sometimes I have to admit I have a hard time following RJ's anarchistic approach to beat and even bars...

  • This is a really great cover of one of my favourite RJ song, congratulations !

This time, you chose to play a blues in C don't you ? Your turnarounds are awesone !

  • Thanks! Yes, I usually play blues in A on the uke, but the shuffle riff on this one worked better in C. Glad you dig it.

  • Really enjoyed this. Feelin the blues, as they do say. Sometimes I think I'm an oddity for being able to get into the blues for some one so young. Usually an older man's racket, right?

(Not saying that the Baron is gettin old or anything...)

  • Thanks buddy! Well, blues is not so much about age as about insight and experience, right?

  • Awesome!

  • Thanks man!

  • Killer job on these Blues tunes Baron.

  • Thanks Brad!

  • Damn I love your fills. You are truly unique man.

  • Thank you Johnny boy!

  • Wow! Your blues are so cool, they're smokin' hot!!

  • Thanks Sunny!

  • Look at you doing the blues and doing an excellent job at it I might say!!! Very very good!! Loved it all the way in Texas!! T:)
