What a shameful rewrite of history from someone who should certainly know better but unfairly demonizes Israel at every turn. Israel is quite adept at handling its enemies & in 1973 Israel was pressured into a truce when at the time, IDF troops were not far from taking Cairo! They masterfully turned the tide and, as always, that's when they are pressured to stop. They never lost to Hezbollah & if they focus their firepower on S. Lebanon it could be leveled in a day. So keep it real Fink-el-stein

Prof. R. Aumann, American born Israeli and leading authority in the theory of games, maintains that if you want to have peace now, you will never have peace, but if you are willing to wait for peace, you will have peace now. Why is the analysis of this 2006 Nobel Price winner in economy, so different than Finkelstein's?
Anyway, Israel is certainly not the little boy which needs to be taught a lesson, like Finkelstein's rethoric seems to suggest. It's quite an advanced society in many fields.
