  • if you just change your bike motor to delta..by unwinding the y configuration and turning into a delta configuration.will you loose hill climbing capability..

  • WHAT IS THE REAL SPEED ON ROAD ?

  • Like a turbo boost.

  • your drawing looks like a flux cap.

  • and uh and uh

  • Could you provide the schematic for the controller and contactor? I'm interested in making my own e-bike and wanted to compare notes on what you are doing with your bike. Good job in any case experimenting with Delta-Wye.

  • akçj

  • vtec just kicked in, yo!

  • mas boludo no podes ser no?

  • hi thanks for your great vidioes becors of you i now have my first e bike and it is great fun, and i have become a menber on es good forum

    regards spassser

  • When you switch from star to delta, what is happening to the current and the voltage?

  • In delta the current increase by around 80% but the voltage is the same ( battery voltage) ( in fact it drop just a bit ( less than 1 V at full load)

  • @Doctorbass Thanks for replying. The bikes you make are amazing. I can't wait to get my hands on some of these parts. Your videos rock! Would you forsee any overheating problems, with the extra boost, if I was going to use a similar set-up for commuting everyday about 15 km each way? Thanks.

  • Could you hook this up to a frequency switch to automatically switch from Star to Delta and back at ~70km/h

  • is this something that you will only energize while pedalling and up to a certin speed or do you think it will be able to carry your weight and start you off from a dead stop

  • I want to see the load's working, can you show me this function?

    :D

  • Thanks doctor! Cheers from ES!

  • Brilliance is simplicity made obvious by good presentation. Great video tutorial from our favorite free thinker.

  • Finaly, the flux converter is here !!!

Back to the Future doctor Bass !!!

Féliciations pour cet engin diabolique !!!

  • Sorry I mean Flux Capacitor !!!

  • Hey Doc,

I can't wait to see this on the road.. I am presently looking for a contactor that i could use to get this motor going!

  • Yes Luc.. I could also get that speed at 1 Volts and 200A if i would... but volt vs speed isn't as imoprtant as power vs speed!.. You know... Volt is only EMF.. .the less volt the more current for the same power!... so by using my 5305 with 100V it only draw 9A at 60km/h =) or would also draw 18A at 50V..etc

  • Less volts = less batteries = less waste and less expense. Trust me if you were to take your exact system, mount the motor, put it on a freewheel, you will go faster than you would direct.

  • @Doctorbass Even if you do that, doesn't higher current mean higher torque? BTW, keep up the awesome work! (Greetings from Trois-Rivières!)

  • Put that thing on a freewheel with proper ratio and it will do more speed on less volts. Great work anyhow. Thats about the speed I get on 36v no load.

  • yes lets all put 150lbs of led acid on

our bikes to save money and go faster??

come on doc we we want a video :)

  • Karmanike1911 did you fix your error of 57mph to kph? Also you can fix your error of 150lbs Lead acid to simply 36lbs of SLA. thank you.

    Luc
