  • Великолепный артист!

  • Ich sah diesen genialen Mann, als Support auf einem Depeche Mode Konzert in Frankfurt. Einfach nur geil!!!

  • I Love This Man, He is THE BEST front man.

  • Saw him in glasgow in the 80's he came on about midnight, crazy gig. Was grabbing his puibic hairs and blowing them to crowd, then covered in shaving foam with mike lead round himself.

  • Is that Alison Moyet on the right? She sang back-up on some albums.

  • Under the flag was about the Falklands war. For all of you signing up: "the contract states quite fundamentally: the undersigned (that's you) lay your life on the line."

  • i love fad gadget. And great quality clip - thank you!!

  • ...?

  • I meant that in a good way. Look at those do's and pashminas.

Frank Tovey was one of the best performers ever.

  • Oh my, Santogold has the same voice on their hybrid commercial 'my drive thru".

  • what genre is fad gadget? new wave? experimental? new wave mixed with experimental?

  • That seems pretty close, sort of close to Wire's 80's sound, but with more electronic flavor I guess.

  • The great thing is that at the time, there was no real label for what these innovators were doing.

Today, it would be called early "electropop-darkwave".

  • i love that!!!

  • excellent!

  • falco got much of his ideas from franky tovey

  • what do you mean by that???

  • There were times that Frank Tovey bore a striking resemblance to a young Peter Cook... in more ways than one.

  • Yes

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • Human League meets Depeche Mode meets early Ultravox.

I know nothing about this band so I'm not gonna say anything derogatory, but when was this out? I'm guessing 84?

  • I think 1982

  • 1982 it was according to the discography in the official Fad Gadget home page

  • Depeche Mode were heavily influenced by Fad Gadget

  • Certainly some similarities in the drum sound - the winning TR-808+Arp2600+Simmons SDS V combination, if I'm not mistaken ? Sounds great and a superb track, this.

  • Quite close... 1982.

Check out Fad Gadget's excellent "Under the flag" CD.

  • This has made me cry :(

    Frank...requiescate in pace beautiful!

  • Alison MOYET BACK VOCAL

  • You're right!,the same year,Frank introduced Alison to Vince Clarke and Yazoo was born.

  • I still fail to understand why he didn't become bigger in the world. or at least the UK.

  • great song! Thanks for posting!

  • this song particularly sounds like Heaven 17/Human League!!!!! thanks for posting

  • thank you for posting this

  • Strange, for more than 20 years I did not here this song and still some lines were very familiar to me. Thanks for posting it.

  • I saw Fad Gadget live in the 1980s and he did Ladyshave... produced something from his pants.. he was the most amazing performer ever... the 80's werent the 80s without him! I miss those days when we had bands of this quality!
