My wife and her girlfriends couldn't wait to see this movie. My guy friends and I thought it was supposed to be a joke with Chris Hemsworth starring in it. After seeing it...we're still trying to figure out if it was a joke or supposed to be a chick flick. At least they cast a real man for the new Conan movie......oh wait....they didn't....

I don't use the Rotten Tomatoes site to determine the quality of filmmaking: I've made films. And a 'rating" is merely a popularity meter among people.

Now that the film is out, it seems the major critics are nearly universal in seeing it as a so-so adaptation.

I'm simply a vanishing breed: the Purist. I want to see the movie character MATCH the comic book character, not in the silly fight scenes, but in the character of the superhero. Marvel movies completely change the character.

First of all to all the people talking about characters being changed to black, you people need to stop it, I can name a couple of black characters that have been changed to white, and if you want to talk about mythical characters take Hercules. The original real Greek myth Hercules is a black man but he has been changed white many times. Don't believe me? Google it!

I just saw it and it was fantastic! Chris is perfectly cast and Kenneth did an amazing job. All these issues with race. I dont get it. I didnt have one problem with the casting because all the actors could ACT. That is all.

Yeah, I'm none too keen on people feeling they need to change the ethnicity of the characters just to appeal to moviegoers. And I'm Black, by the way. Been reading Thor since 1965 and am perfectly comfortable with the Norse being White. I mean, do we expect the Japanese to be Black?!?! This is stupid. Given this is mythology, one would have hoped they could forego political correctness.

I doubt the movie will be good, nor will it receive good reviews. Doesn't mean people won't see it, though.

At first i was annoyed about one of the Norse gods being Black but this is the comic version of Thor so it shouldn't matter but if it was a movie of the Norse gods as they are in the Pagan religion then i think i would have a problem.

1. Just because the race of the character was changed doesn't mean it was for PC reasons. Marvel is not that type of company. Idris was cast because they wanted him for the role, not because they wanted a black for the role. And if you've seen the movie you'd know he was very well cast.

2. The movie has been getting good reviews for a while now, where have you been. 94% on rotten tomatoes so far.
