In a race like this, the horse squeezed on the inside is almost always screwed. If Curlin was on the outside he would have won. Look what happened to Secretariat when he lost to Onion - he was also squeezed on the inside. A short time later he killed him at the Marlboro Cup when he had free reign to run. Of course, Sec was also ill at that first race, but would still have won had he been on the outside.

This mare didn't surprise me at all. Princequillo passed it on to his daughter SomethingRoyal who passed in on to her son who passed it on to his daughter Weekend Surprise who passed it on to her son A.P. Indy who passed in on to his daughter... Rags to Riches!  Oh yes... Weekend Surprise's sire was Secretariat.

One of the most phenomenal performances by any horse I've ever seen. Rags to Riches is a truly special filly, well I guess now it would be mare. I really couldn't believe I was getting 4-1 odds when I bet this race, but I wasn't complaining.

i love how now that the world has gotten to know curlin, how good he is, how fast, how strong, and how determined, that it came down to him and this amazing filly and the filly won. Rags is such an awesome horse! i hope her babies go on to do great things just like their mom!
