Being that this is on a practice field I question the distance of the kick. I know several practice fields between 70 and 80 yards in length which would make this only about an 80 to 90 yard kick.

He's basically kicking the ball off. The reason field goal range max's out at about 50+ yards during a real game is because you have an entire defensive line full of 6" 5"" dudes 5 yards away jumping and putting their hands up.

You have to kick the ball at an angle that clears the defensive line.
