To anyone who thinks Finkelstein is far-out look up the Finkelstein/Ben-Ami debate on the radio show Democracy Now!. It should be easy to find. Shlomo Ben-Ami (former Israeli Foreign Minister) doesn't offer much in the way of factual dispute of Finkelstein's take on Israel/Palestine issues.
Try reading Finkelstein's books, they're first rate scholarship. And he's right the Carter book is uncontroversial (amongst scholars - as he explains.) Its controversial for Israel first-polemicists.

Not a single fact was contained in this video to refute any of Finkelstein's arguments. As Finkelstein said Jimmy Carter's book was quite a tepid account of the dispossesion and occupation of the Palestinians but nevertheless Carter is probably the only mainstream US political figure who shows much sign of actually getting it as far as understanding the Israel/Palestine question is concerned.

Finkelstein is a meticulous scholar of the documentary record. What is the logic behind documenting the Arab expulsions of Jews? It is not a justification for the Jewish expelling the Palestinians. Two wrongs do not make a right. The Palestinians cannot be held responsible for the actions of others.
As far as Jimmy Carters book is concerned there is controversy surrounding the title of his book. I don't think there are any factual errors in it. Some people have said it is not factually correct but have offered no examples.

As usual, another piece claiming to 'expose' the work of scholars like Finkelstein & then not citing one FACTUAL error in his work. You correctly include that many have have accused Jinny Carter of making factual errors in his book. But Finkelstein himself has acknowledged these errors but points out that the most important facts are correct i.e. the illegality of almost everything Israel is doing in the Occupied Territories.

I first became aware of Finkelstein through his book 'A Nation on Trial' in which he forensically exposed Daniel Goldhagen's 'hitler's Willing executioners' for the depressing fraud it was. I found his meticulousness impressive. I've seen and read a number of his lectures on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

So I take it you dont' agree with Benny Morris, who writes that the overwhelming majority of Arabs were expelled from Israel -- he says due to the chaotic circumstances of war, but Finkelstein demonstrates convincingly, in my view, that there was a defacto Zionist plan for expulsion that was carried out by and large.

From the only statement of Morris' I've read -- the one on the CAMERA website -- Morris criticizes Finkelstein without citing evidence or supporting his claim. That's typical among scholars who want to lend their name to trashing Finkelstein without actually trying to take issue with anything he's written.

They attempt to counter F.'s claim that pre-67, there were only 2 prominent public intellectuals who publicly supported israel. There's a speech attributed to Hugo Chávez that the Wiesenthal Center 'documented' of which I'm sure it's fake as it doesn't appear anywhere else even though I searched for it for days. Alright. I went through the list and it seems like in some cases they have a point (e.g. the Haniyah statement) while in some other cases (like the 242 remark) they are wrong. So there are errors in Carter's book. Perhaps though you should have devoted the second part of your video to pointing out the errors you think are important instead of focusing on something unrelated. I still can't understand why you suddenly switched to another subject in the middle of your video.
