by order of seat from left to right: Greg "Campbellock Jr." Pope, Toni Basil, Fred "Mr. Penguin" Berry, Don "Campbellock" Campbell, Slim the Robot, Shabba-Doo, Fluky Luke
These guys still dance better than the new dancers. The new dancers are just doing moves with no rhythm to the music. This is the way it should be done.
RIP Don Cornelius.... you believed in your dream for Soul Train in order that we would see belief in ourselves. What a Legacy you have given the WORLD!
The Lockers: back in the day on Soul Train. Here you see the roots of hip-hop dancing...moonwalking, robot....with dancer Fred Berry (Rerun) Toni Basil (Hey Mickey!), Ray "Shabb-doo" from Breakin'. The pioneers of hip-hop/breakdance.
I love locking.Even then, it was just as much a throwback thing as it was foward. Throwback to jazz and the future in funk. Jazz thorugh each person being allowed to improvise over the beat.It was a foward dance that was Funky, futuristic . Especially when Sam the robot was able end it with a glimpse of things to come.
The original Lockers. To think that this dance was invented because (what's his first name?) Campbell forgot how to do the funky chicken. Once I've learned enough locking, it'll be an awesome way to mix up my popping. Then you'll see actual pop AND lock dancing!
@SnotRockets55 I beleive that's Toni Basil (oh mickey you're so fine toni basil) she was a member of the group for some time. There were also two other girls.
i just realized where micheal got most his moves from

Popping while locking looks stupid. One of the main reasons why you won't find a video of people doing it.
***There is a difference between popping AND lock vs. popping THEN locking
