  • he should spit with yak ballz!

  • this music is so fuckin awesome <3

  • — She said she was sick of the city life, sweet girl but the world made her the shitty type ` ♥

  • people just listen and enjoy, No need to compare lol... if you dig blu more than j cole. bump this shit and do you! haha

  • .... what how is j cole not on the same playing field as blu.. ok wale I understand but J.cole has lyrics hes far from overrated. He is actually a great rapper with a message if you dont think so, your stupid.

  • @1FLOt

Okay, so tell me what Cole¨s message is? What songs contain a true message? Lights Please? Nah man.

  • @tibiasuckness Are you serious, I'm not some bandwagon I know all his tapes. Can I live, knock knock, enchanted, villematic, rags to riches..cmon man don't even try that shit.

  • @1FLOt

None of those song have a MESSAGE, which you said they do. They have conscious lyrics, but that doesn´t mean that the songs have a message. And lmao, Knock Knock is about fucking hoes, are you stupid or what?

  • @tibiasuckness why dont u listen to lost ones by him. then tell me theres no message in it

  • @ManOnTheMoon70

I´ve heard it, it´s dope. Again, that song doesn´t have a message, it´s just a story told from two sides. A song with a message is a song like HiiiPower, Brenda´s Got A Baby, Keep Ya Head Up, Stakes Is High, Thieves In The Night. Lost Ones DOES NOT have a message, it´s a conscious song but it doesn´t have a true message. As I´ve said before Cole is a conscious rapper but that doesn´t mean that he has a message in his song and also I don´t care about him having a message or not.

  • @tibiasuckness to be honest, i really dont like j cole at all but how is a song about abortion have no message?

  • @ManOnTheMoon70

It´s a song about aborting. And what´s the message? That it´s a song about abortion? That´s not a message, that´s just storytelling.

  • @tibiasuckness the message is probably about how people have to deal with parenting at a early age and have to deal with abortion but lets just stick with blu bcuz im tired of talkin about him

  • @tibiasuckness

ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Lost ones DOES NOT have a message. What you on that J. Cole haterade? Lets be real here and stop riding on Blu's dick.. He is good don't get me wrong ok.. Lost One speaks of Abortion, get your shit right.. Talks about how the man needs to man up and to his mistakes and take care of his child and not become like his dad and leave his child father-less

  • @muthafu

No it doesn´t have a message IMO. Every story doesn´t have a message. The only time he says the guy needs to "man up" is in the last line of the song. 99% of the song is just a story. You can interpret it in your own way if you want to but imo it´s not a story. And I don´t hate Cole, far from it and I´m not on Blu´s dick at all (dude has barely made any impact since Below The Heavens), just don´t pull shit out of your ass like saying Cole has a message in his songs when he doesn´t.

  • @tibiasuckness

Ok.. You say its a 99% a story then say its not a story? Kinda contradicting yourself there my friend. Do realize that his does happen in the real world that the guy bangs the women and leaves her because he found out the women is pregnant and has to go through the system of deciding whether or not to have this child, if they do the fool has to do his duties if not then fine the woman is going to do it herself and raise the child like his mom raised him fatherless..

  • @muthafu

I meant to say it´s not a message :P Yeah, I realize it happens, there´s hundreds of movies about it, hundreds of songs about it, there´s still not a message and I´m not saying it´s important to have a message either. Biggie didn´t have a message in 95% of his songs (maybe some underlying message but nothing that was obvious anyways) but imo he´s the GOAT. It´s still a dope song, it just doesn´t have a message.

  • can anyone get me the lirycs for this some im in love with it <3

  • i LOVE THIS SONG

  • theres this new tool on youtube, you get to decide your reaction on the video, and im glad to say i am going to be the first to react to this as a classic.

  • I've listened to this song over 10 times today :)

  • Even if you don't like hip-hop, listen to the lyrical quality, and musical intricacy. Then you'll realize. Blu & Exile, are dope as fuck.

  • is that his gf?

  • This is real hip hop.

  • Story of my life doe

  • Great track

  • get the prejudice, greed, hate, impatience, dishonesty, and negativity out of your heart,

let love, understanding, patience, honesty, and positivity into your heart,

treat everyone as though they were someone you would die for,

then nobody would be hungry or not have a place to stay for the night,

lets start from there then we can tackle all the others problems we have, cultivate LOVE for all living beings.....Peace to the World....

  • I want this song to be played at my funeral, this describes my whole life.. damm

  • reach high and go...

  • wish i could fly

  • I like Blu, but I'm waiting for him to take the next step like J. Cole, Wale, B.o.B., Kid Cudi and others. Blu and Charles Hamilton as well have shown their greatness but still missing something.

  • @kcrazy58 U mean like selling out and signing a major record deal??? It's the catch 22 that hiphop heads face. We love it when we discover "underground" talent and wish more people knew about them. But hate it when they gotta sell a lil bit of themselves in the process. Just keep listenin and supportin, 1love.

  • @jrealious He can sign to major label without selling out, his music is good but can be better. His verse on We Beamin is one of the best in the song, but his solo music is missing that sound. The producers he's using now can't match the quality he had in that song, it unfortunate cause lyrically he's up there with the best, but this is music not poetry, he'll needed more talented producers to put him over the the edge.

  • @kcrazy58 u dont kno what ur talkin about kid.. blu .

  • @kcrazy58

Blu eats J. Cole, Wale, B.o.B, Cudi EASILY. None of them will come close to making an album of the same greatness as Below the Heavens. And don't ever mention B.o.B. and Kid Cudi in the same sentence as Blu ever again. They're not even in the same playing field. Go listen to Airplanes and some of Cudi's rock music or w/e.

  • @tibiasuckness I pretty much agree Blu is lyrically superior to B.o.B. and Cudi, and if this was poetry Blu would be the greatest....but it;s not. No need to get offensive and butt hurt cause I think Blu is undershooting his potential.

  • @kcrazy58

Well, I agree that Blu is undershooting his potential, to use your words. Fact is, he hasn't come close to Below The Heavens ever since making it. But B.o.B. and Cudi are shitty rappers, that's why I reacted. There are many rappers that are much, much better than them. Like sure, they hit the mainstream but that don't mean that they're actually good.

  • @tibiasuckness I strongly disagree with you. B.o.B. has a flow that's unique and yet never feels out place when next to other rappers such as T.I. and Em. Cudi's really only got one trick, but he very good at, though Man on the Moon 2 was a pretty big let down. Now these guys might not be the best, but they are far from bad or even average.

  • @tibiasuckness Blu can eat Wale, BoB and Cudi probably very easy but when it comes to J. Cole its a different story. I'm not sure if you only heard In the Morning or what but J. Cole, Blu, and Lupe are at very close levels of skill (forget about the new track Lupe is forced to release). Honestly if you wanna hear real pure J cole listen to Friday night Lights, that mixtape is just crazy.

  • @Sodboey

Lmao, I've heard every Cole mixtape, I've got them on my iPhone and I like them, but J. Cole is an overrated rapper, he's just not that good as people are trying to make him. He's got a good voice, he makes good beats, he has decent lyrics, decent flow, but he's too damn repetetive and many of his songs are unfocused and lack direction. He's a good rapper, no doubt, but compare Fly to any J. Cole song and you'll se how much better Blu is than him. I will cop Cole's album though.

  • @tibiasuckness i agree

  • @tibiasuckness

    WOAH there sonny.

That is a little bias there.. Blu can easily be in the same category as Wale and J. Cole, these three have great story telling music.. As for Cudi and B.o.B, I like Cudi, he interacts with his fans but B.o.B sold out.. Cudi had a great line of mixtapes he put out and a debut album..

  • @tibiasuckness couldnt agree more hes in his own league but hes too underated it gets me mad BTH is a classic

  • @tibiasuckness I like blu and jay lectronica . Is there any other good ones i should check into, havent been on the net in a minute

  • @ELFmachinery

Kendrick Lamar is the best rapper I´ve heard in years. Check him out. I´d recommend Big KRIT too. Curren$y is dope but he´s a rapper you either love or hate. Most people like J. Cole, you could check him out but he´s overrated imo.

  • @ELFmachinery Sha Stimuli, Prince Ea and I highly recommend K Rino. In fact listen to 2 Sides To A Story first, then listen to Amnesia and I'll bet my life you'll be hooked.

  • @tibiasuckness Hip hop isnt defined by one person alone, its an art, and each artist portrays emotion, advice, etc. differently. ALL of those artist state are great, but one is not greater than the other. If that was that case I would have stopped purchasing CD's after Below The Heavens. Dont get me wrong though, that album was amazing.

  • @tibiasuckness you do know there is a song with blu and kid cudi, no doubt blu is better then all those people you named but i like cudi and blu, gotta expand your love for music and not just be bound to listening to one artist and one genre

  • all of a sudden i feel like i have hope...

  • Nigga is Talented! missed the show wen he was in RSA was soo pissed!

  • @seanmm318 what's the name of the sample? o_O

  • Even God listens to this music

  • I love this song!!

  • Did he make this piano beat or did he sample it? and can someone Make a Tutorial how to do that Piano Beat haha . love this song

  • Thanks Blu. Thanks igotem16 i realy need that, God bless.

  • I understand that it is part of the concept of this kind of music to take from artists and make something new out of it. But do the originals ever get any credit? For instance, running through this entire song is the tune EBB TIDE by The Rightous Brothers. Too often it seems the originals get no credit. And that makes it so problematic for me to consider this stuff here real music.

  • @warder105 well i mean this IS a youtube upload and there are 5 different versions of the same song here, all with different titles and what-not. on an actual, official track, whether CD or on youtube (uploaded by an official source), credit would be given for the sample, the producer, and anyone/anything else involved.

btw thanks for giving the name of that sample. ive been looking for that shit all over the place.

  • @warder105 By credit do you mean shoutin out the originators of the sample in the song itself??? They do get their cred from real artists as far as references go.

  • Blu you`re just a lyrical genius & I`m in love with your music.

  • This song makes me wanna get high, so i can Fly.

  • i think blue and wiz should team up for track there voices are matched there ideals sounds the same

  • Blu is so raw. He's one of those artists I genuinely wish I could meet and thank him for his music.

  • no big rappers are taking him in cause they're jealous

  • [VERSE 2]

He said he had a problem with commitment

And it was probably because his pops was into pimpin

As a kid he called different women "momma"

So he grew up in some drama

That he never could get out of

He was 18, already hating life, so he blazed trees

And he could ball, but he bitched every day it seems

And his grades were so bad he never made the team

  • [HOOK]

    Fly! Reach high and go

Wish on a star and release your soul

Cause you know, you can fly

    Reach high and go

Wish on a star and release your soul

Cause you know, you can fly

  • Because the rent's due soon

    For her one bedroom

And the kids kicking momma like, "I need some leg room"

Daddy gone, the babies might as well be test tubes

In the projects stuck, wishing they just move

    To the country

I see her from time to time trying to make a little money

And that makes me realize, "Shit, my life ain't that crummy"

So one day I asked her how she deals with it,

She said she doesn't, she just loves God, so she can fly

  • Let's try again because I had to delete so many in between last time

    [VERSE 1]

She said she was sick of the city life

A sweet girl, but the world made her the shitty type

When she was young she just wanted to be pretty like a model or an actress but

She had to work for her two kids

Father in jail, serving time for two bids

Kids hungry asking momma where the food is

And she could see their hearts beating between their two ribs

    Now she's crying watching Cribs

  • Apparently it's "Release your soul cause you can fly" That makes a lot more sense haha

  • Sorry about the start of verse 2 that's formatted like a paragraph block. I couldn't figure out how to get the formatting right.

  • But he remembers what he grandpa said when he was young, /

We look to the sky asking God, "How come?" /

I feel his pain time to time when I look in the mirror /

And I realize that guy's me trying to see clearer /

So tell God, "I hear him" /

And I know how to deal with it /

Close my eyes until I find my spirit /

    and just FLY

  • After listening to this song for days on end, I've written the lyrics:

    [VERSE 1]

She said she was sick of the city life

A sweet girl, but the world made her the shitty type

When she was young she just wanted to be pretty like a model or an actress but

  • @anthonyigo ...And Trust Bro, Your Post Of The Lyrics Is Very Much Appreciated........

  • there are simply too many talented artists out there.. it makes my heart weep that its only by chance i discovered this amazing music and there is probably so much more out there i will never know.. such is life i suppose! a constantly elusive beauty, waiting to be discovered..

  • You know how emcees like to call themselves "artists?" Well, Blu really, truly is one. His lyrics are pure poetry and art. This is one of my all time favorite tracks now.
