  • Nuclear energy is the way of the future. It's too bad there's a bunch of uneducated tree-hugging hippies blocking the path. It's also the same path they're looking for, they just don't realize it.

  • @jkflipflop98 Yes, that's very true. It's too bad too many tree hugging hippies are trolling the comments section. They talk about chernobyl, but they don't realise that a reactor melt down or cooling system failure is almost impossible with fourth gen. reactors. We just have to wait for fusion power, the ultimate source of power for the world. If we find a way to make fusion power, we might skip over fission power, and directly switch to fusion.

  • @yellowmetalcyborg

And disposing of the production by product? You know... the stuff with a half million year half life. ?

  • @1984in2010 Actually, most of the nuclear fission products are Cs 137, Sr 90 and I 131 all of which have half lives of only 30y, 29y and 8d respectively. Others like Zr 93 and Tc 99 that have very long half lives are considered medium level wastes because their activities is significantly lower than the aforementioned isotopes and they do not get absorbed into the body the way the first three elements do (contamination).

  • its fast forwarded... its slow spinning.

  • Nuclear power is the power of the future, it is clean & abundent. solar will only be really practical when you can put the collectors in orbit & beam the power to earth.

  • eh

What's the waste product? Radioactive ore. So it's not clean.

Abundent? Where do you get uranium from? You mine it. Same as fossil fuels.

  • Uranium rods last a really long time before they burn out. That is a mute point.

  • how about geothermal energy? and look what happened at Chernobyl

  • We know SO much more about nuclear energy now. Also we have a lot of knowledge about storing nuclear waste in safe environments. It isn't hugely dangerous it doesn't emit a LOT of radiation and transporting it through towns would not affect the background radiation by a lot. Green people are so uneducated about the only thing practical enough to help their cause.

  • @conman42000 storing nuclear waste? get a grip

its hugely dangerous and emits deathly amounts.

where do u get ur shit from?

  • @kdraper2007 Nuclear power is clean!?!?!?!?

Are you some kind of dumb fucktard because it seems that you are.

  • @kdraper2007 I can't agree more. Fission and fusion is the only way to generate enough power for the world, forget about solar and wind.

  • I thought I saw a Stirling Engine that runs by holding in the palm of your hand. Anyone see it before?

  • There is a picture of a Stirling Engine running off of someone's hand on the wikipedia page on Stirling Engines.

  • Makes sense since all it needs to run is a temperature difference and for a small enough stirling engine your body heat from your hand would be enough.

  • i will try too run my currently being built stirling out in the sun too good idea

  • can i use it as energy pree airfan?

  • yeah just replace the fly wheels with a fan blade (to reduce weight)

  • looks like a normal one to me, but do you just leave it out in the sun or is it really a solar powered one?

  • it's just a normal one which is using the suns heat for the temperature difference

  • big units have a dish of about 5 meter diameter and an integrated generator system.... they reach the highest grade of solar use efficiency that lies at around about 29 % producing decentralised up to 1 Megawatt's of electricity in very sunny areas. the can even produce enough to power a small house and make money for you even if its raining all day.

  • More like able to power 3-4 homes at peak output, maybe 1 on a rainy day.

  • bilddb(dot)rb(dot)kp(dot)dlr(dot)de(/)Bilder/jpe(/)596.jpg

  • yes , how to use 0.0002 watts available ?

  • Yeah. How much torque does it have?

That would be an awesome generator, or something.

  • you know if you made it a fan it would cool you down, you know when the sun is shining.

    very nice though

  • Your missing the bigger picture. You place one of those in your yard attached to a electric generator and you can make your own power. You'd need a larger machine and a dish that will focus the suns rays on a heat collection plate. The idea is awesome and thanks to the monopoly on oil these ideas have been stifled. The only sad thing here is that this idea has been around since 1860ish. Thanks for posting this great video.

  • Just how do you imagine the oil companies stifled this idea? Did they shot anyone who brought this to market? Did they use their collective telekenesis? Did they use the government to enact the secret anti-sterling engine law? I hope we aren't all vaporized for watching this video?

  • they didn't have to stifle it, it is too ineffecient. if it gets cloudy suddenly the output drops, & your costomers call complaining that they have no power. it is economy, not conspiracy. with the increase in oil price this may end up being used, but it will never be a primary source of power.

  • @kdraper2007 Eh? that why you need batteries to store the charge generated!!?

    Hello!?!?

  • With a big enough dish I could even shade my house...hahahhaah...Oh wait we have those they are called sun umbrellas..I'm suprised those sneaky oil monopilaters and freemasons down at the CIA haven't used thier nanobots to erase our brains so they can continue to enslave the world with their texas tea!

  • You on drugs? Can I have some please?

  • drugs are a prelude to conspiracy theory...paranioa will destroy-ya!

  • That's a cool engine - Runs quite fast. What kind of torque does it have?

  • it looks very primitive

  • That's nice - but what can you extract useful work from it?

  • Braging rights

  • Try checking out Southern California Edison's Solar Stirling Engine project..
