  • I've heard that the tuff was in cpm 3v, the tang said s30v. I hope it's 3v, that'd be sweet. Whichever they use though I'm excited for it

  • will you be going to the 2012 meet?

  • @everythingstaken001 Alas, no. I've just relocated to Asia for the next two years.

  • whats the knife in the thumbnail?

  • This was really interesting. Thanks for posting!

  • whats a spyder ho

  • Thank you for the video!

  • Does anyone know the name of the ethnic looking blade made by the Persian designer? He compares it to the Masad Ayoob blade but I couldn't catch the name.

  • @EpicSnuggleBunny

Nevermind, I found it and I'm in love.

  • the sound the Navaja makes would be described as a "ratcheting" sound. BTW-this is one awesome preview / review. Thank you so much.

  • an awesome presentation here! Thank you, 007!

  • any idea when that techno will be released ? lol prob not i know but i would love to get it and sprints can be hard to get.

  • Where is the SUPERLEAF ?????? Ahhhh !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi Mr. Dragon,

I am new to your videos. But I enjoyed your thorough and patient review with interesting anecdotes.

    - Commando

  • I very much enjoyed your video very informative and clear,i cant wait for the spyderco native 5 looks very good I.M.O. i look forward to your next video.

  • Thinking about getting my first spyderco and im leaning towards the paramilitary 2, what do you think?

  • @Tkenney420 If you like the operation of the compression lock, then I am sure you'll love it.

  • I'm so excited about the Yojimbo 2!

I don't care about SD either. I just love the S30V Wharncliffe blade with a compression lock and amazing ergos. It's gonna be great.

  • I am amazed at the vast amount of blade design ! Totally cool !

  • Wow I watched the whole thing! I want most of the knives shown here. I'm amazed that Spyderco never stops innovating!

  • I like THE JR do you know a price range

  • ★★★★★

  • Yes, SOME of the knives made in taiwan are nice, BUT NOT ALL. I have found MANY flaws in the fit and finish of taiwnese made knives or any thing else made by CHEAP overseas asian labor.

To say you would'nt mind all knives being made in taiwan is WRONG!

We need to support the AMERCAN worker by purchasing products MADE IN THE U.S.A. You, being a pilgrim, are out of touch with our current U.S. job rate. *!*

  • @neonightkiller Indeed, probably not ALL, but the Taiwan-made Spydercos (except the unavailable Chicago & Cat) are in my experience all excellent, in fact they are amongst my best made production knives.

By the way, If I were following your reasoning, I should not buy ANY Spyderco or any other American brand but only buy European brands like Böker, Eka, Helle... All good brands but that would be limiting: I prefer to focus on variety, quality and quality/price, no matter where it's made...

  • @MrDagon007 as jobs are shipped off to low wage countries, the knife companies will continue to lose customers in the U.S.A. because 1.) we are looking for a quality product, and 2.) the wages that would have bought a quality product are now gone.

  • @neonightkiller He's not a pilgrim. He lives in Belgium.

  • @neonightkiller

Spydercos Taiwan-made knives are one of the best I have seen...even better then the Colorado made...

  • @neonightkiller Maybe you are out of touch with the cheap overseas asian labor because Taiwans labor is not cheap at all. By the way my Tawanese Spydercos have NO flaws at all but I have a US made Para 2 quite difficult to deploy because of a overbent liner.

  • Great review !! it`s nice that you did this for the rest of us .....the bad part is we have to wait till we can get these jems in our own hands ,loved the Techno

  • Thank you for taking the time. very nice

  • thanx..very interesting new spydies

  • another good one! Thxs

  • Very enjoyable video! thank you for taking the time to make it.

  • I'm still waiting for Spyderco to make a more manageable size titanium framelock. I love the fluted Ti military, I just can't carry something that big. If they took the size down to the Para size I think it would be a home run.

  • @AgGuy07 Chokwe and Sage 2 should interest you then !

  • @AgGuy07 Try the new Techno.

  • Aiaiai. I am knifesick. What to do???I Want them ALL!!!

  • Thank you for another well done presentation. Quite enjoyable and informative.

  • i really enjoy the current stretch 2. the blade shape is perfect for me. a straight one would not do the stretch justice. its like when they made the cara cara more endura like and straightened out that blade also. how did you get the honor of attending. do you have an important government job there? thanks for the glimpses of newstuff. wow

  • @PavlovSandor 100 Spyderco fans could attend, it was announced on the Spyderco forum, and then just a matter of registering timely. I agree about the current Stretch 2, changing the blade shape would make it "just another Spyderco".

  • That spyderco Tech really catches my eye. Easily my favorite knife on that list

    -small

    -tough

    -titanium

    -ergonomic

    -FFG

    Must buy indeed.

  • All of these are very interesting, both in design and innovation. You have done an excellent job documenting and explaining these knives. They are quite pleasing, and there's few I don't like.

  • Extremely well done presentation. Thank you for sharing.

  • Thank you for this in depth look at things to come from Spyderco. That Lum Tanto would look wonderful in my collection.

  • Thanks for putting all of these online - I've seen a few pics around the internet but nothing like this comprehensive coverage of the knife show. It seems like Spyderco intend to make this another expensive year for me producing ever more great blades. The idea of a Stretch with a Paramillie blade appeals to me particularly if it comes with the excellent stretch frn handle.

  • The Techno has got to be an Jens (Yens) Anso design! I love his work! I've already have all his other collaborations with Spyderco and Boker. This one is a must on my list!

  • @shaokem Ok... well the Techno is not made by Anso, but it really looks like an Anso design. Odd

  • ...I'm also really interested in that Blue lightweight flat-ground Manix 2. The Byrn Tern looks nice as well - probably pick that up while I'm at it. Ooo, that Junior is really interesting. That Carpenter has some Tenacious-like curves to it - nice. That Squeak looks like another very cool, inexpensive slip-joint.

    Awesome preview. Thanks.

  • Thanks so much for this awesome preview. I'll be picking up that native 5 for sure.

  • Cool compilation. Not entirely agreeing with all your observations, but that's a subjective thing of course ;-)

2011-2012 will be good years to be a Spyderco fan !

ps: I don't mind you using my pic at all :-)))

  • Wonderful preview of some very interesting designs, surely something for Spydie fans to be excited about and wonderful insights to the upcoming product coming from them, thanks MrDragon and thanks for all your help.

  • Thank You for sharing this most interesting display of Spydies.

  • 7:07 kershaw needs work ?! it really resembles allot

  • Very nice video.I don't like the delica becuase I don't feel you should mix traditional and modern together. They don't look well together.

  • Very nice video.

  • Beim Treffen im Amsterdam, wurde der erwartete Preis fuer das Lion Spy Messer diskutiert?

  • @hugo2x No, proces weren't discussed in the meeting.

  • Thank you Sir!

  • Very nice report. I might have missed it but what type of locking or holding mechanism does the Des Horn folder use?

  • @An0nEeMouse I seem to remember that ot was a liner lock.

  • great vid, i really like the look of a number of knives coming out. Thanks for sharing!

  • Thank you for the sneak peek, very nice preview!

  • Wow awesome review!

  • Thanks for the update! I saw these pics over at bladeforums but your descriptions are excelent.

  • Vallotton is designed perfectly for an auto, offset pivot and heavy stop pin (studs) . Mr V, I believe does reworks of production knives to auto so it perhaps is no accident.

I believe that Mr NutFancy is the man responsible for jimping and clips everywhere on production knives, whether they serve aesthetically or are actually necessary.

In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king

  • @malcolmry

ps, nice video interesting and entertaining

  • Heeee eindelijk een nederlander/belg!!!!!

  • @nuby86 Er zijn wel meer hier op youtube ;)

  • @butaangas

    Wie dan????

    U ROCK!

  • @nuby86 Die ik ken zullen meschien niet op youtube zitten, maar wel op messenforum punt en el. Veel van het forum kom ik ook wel tegen op meetings. Daar leer je ook veel van ;) En bedankt! :D

  • Wow, a lot of fantastic new Spyderco knives to look forward to! Thanks for sharing!

  • Mr Dagon, all I can say is Wow! That was a great preview of the the upcomming Spyderco products. Lots of nice knives comming out, but I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a 'Sage 4' in the mix. As always, your insights into the the designs were very helpful and I saw at least a couple that I HAVE to buy. Thanks for the time that you take to share your views with the rest of us, and please keep them comming!

  • Thanks Dagon for the video!

So many wonderful knives from Spyderco this year! I have an original Ayoob and will buy the new version. Also the Lion-Spy, the Lum Tanto, perhaps the Tuff and the Yojimbo 2. It's going to be a very expensive year!

  • This is great vid! I watched every single minute :) They are looking very intresting!! Military in titanium -3

  • That Ayoob looks like the perfect folding fishing-knife :) Great vid, thanks a lot for sharing, now i know that I have to save a lot of money this year :)

  • Thanks for the video I saw many knives that I liked and I plan on getting the navaja

  • 29:49...spyderco emulating the Buck vantage?
