To all men who served from Wales, Mass" Thank you for your service during the Vietnam War" "RIP Carl Rattee your love for your hometown is never forgotten"
I'm not American, I was born in the 50s in Southeast Asia and lived thru that period of fear of being invaded by the commies. I appreciate what you guys did in VN, Without you guys, the commies would have overrun SEA in the 60s n 70s. My heartfelt gratitude to you guys. I also hated that Jane Fonda bitch for betraying her own country. She is a traitor in my eyes. I've never watched any of her movies n what not in my entire life.
@joo6769 thank you for making your voice heard in this matter. throughout the years, our efforts have been ignored and it's good to hear from someone who appreciates them. being much younger than this generation, i can only imagine, but several of my GOOD friends, who i hold very dear, are veterans of the Vietnam war, and some even before that. my brother has been involved in the war on terror since before 2001 and continues to be, now in the private sector. he's just arrived in Afghanistan.
We don't even waste our time or effort mentioning Hanoi Jane. She's not worth anything. He own father put alot of distance between the both of them after the choices she made. Jane Fonda represents everything I dislike..she's trash!!
Every Veteran I know cannot stand Jane Fonda - her actions caused too many American deaths and much misery to our POW's. Jane Fonda was and still is considered a traitor.
Janr Fonda save lives of children and American soldiers, our soldiers were treated like pawns in a political chess game. Thank God we figured it yet it is more than tragic that again the American Soldier suffered the wrath of a disgusted nation. Those noble menand women ere victimized twicw and I say tah as the younger brother of a Nam Vet just as he has said to me.
................For over 25 years we fought a war with our own government trying to get benefits for veterans.........this war was fought harder than the war we fought in Vietnam. Why......this country is a good nation..........most of it's people are good people.......wouldn 't want to live elsewhere....my government is pathetic!! God Bless America,God Bless the Statler Brothers and thank you veterans(all of you).
I feel so blessed to have foud this just 3 dasy befor the 4th of July. I have always been proud of my dads service to this country. 22 years in the US Navy. He retired an E7. You will never meet a more modest man,yes he served 2 tours in Vietnam. No bragging though,he would rather call those who fell there Heros. Thank You and god bless.
Every time I listen to this it's makes my cry. The second song is also beautiful. It's Amazing Grace in sung in Cherokee by Walela ,who's lead singer is Rita Coolidge.
I saw the Wall in person in 2001.. I broke down crying... My brother came home safe but many of his friends perished .. it is an incredible tribute to those who did not make it home..
This is a very moving tribute, especially the song at the end. Wish I knew who sings it. Thanks to all our servicemen past and present, who fought for our country. Thanks to the people who put this up.
This is the War that our Government Leaders and the people of our Nation tried to forget. For those of us who served there, we will never forget, to this day we still welcome each other home since an ungrateful Nation failed to do so at the time it was needed. Go to the Wall and read the letters and photos that are placed there by family, friends, and brother Vietnam Vets, then you will understand.
Thank you Statler Brothers. I lost several friends in Viet Nam and served two tours of duty there. It sure would have been great if the politicians had gotten out of the way and let us win the war. Walter Cronkite was a great man during WWII, but he betrayed every soldier who fought in Viet Nam. Jane FOnda should be in jail for aiding and abetting the enemy.
@50poiuyt Actually she caused many more names to be added. You are clueless if you think her actions shortened the war. It made it go on longer. Even General Giap said that. She emboldened the enemy. She is a traitor and always will be to those who served.
@50poiuyt what is disgusting is that you consider yourself an American. Thus bitch caused irreparable harm to our soldiers. I happened to be in Vietnam when she betrayed us and the POW's who thought she was also an American.
@50poiuyt : I afraid that you just don't understand how Vietnam Vets feel. You had to live it to truly understand the bond and sacrifices that each who served there embraces.
The Jane Fonda's of the world are a big part of the problem that we have in our society today. As far as I am concerned, she is a TRAITOR and should be wearing BLACK PAJAMAS! Ron
@rvictor64 And a hearty welcome home to you too. We need to stick together so the idiots like 50poiuyt don't rewrite the history books again. None of us wanted that war or any other war, but we cannot back down or we will be overwhelmed by the idiots of this world like the one we have in the WH now. TR said it correctly, "Walk Softly, but carry a Big Stick."
@kenj41ne: myself and most other Vietnam Vets stand right beside you in regards to the true story of this 16 year WAR. We also recognize who the real culprits were that undermined and restricted us from winning, namely The Press,Our Government Leaders and the Protesters who labeled us as WAR Mongers and Baby Killers. This is why Our Generals had to keep changing our Military Strategy to accomodate world opinion instead of a full offensive with Bombing major Cities in the North. Ron
This is a well done video and I am sure many will be proud of all our fallen Veterans.. I know I am.. God Bless each & everyone of you & keep our solders safe that are away from the States..
More than a Name on the Wall: my heroes. Daughter, sister, niece, cousin of Veterans, USAF Veteran, myself. I will always remember. Thank you for posting this - adding to "Veterans" playlist and giving 5/5 stars. Welcome home, soldier. Thank you for your service.
They were taking the Wall around different towns and we just happen to be in Columbus Ind when they came. It was awesome, couldn't hold back the tears. I used to write a guy in Viet Nam when I was in high school. And his name is up there and I can't tell you how that made me felt, He was killed the day before he was to come home. Mike was only a couple years older than me and I still have his letters.
What a great tribute to some of the heroes who wore the US military uniform.God bless all past present and future,as well as their families. These are the people who make/made this a great country.Because of them we can truly say "I'm proud to be an American".
Thank you so much! As the wife of a Vietnam vet, I was recently privileged to be at the reunion of two men who had not seen each other for 41 years--yet it seemed as though no time had passed. What a joy! And to watch my all-time favorites, the Statlers, honor again those who served ... I too honor those of your compatriots who have fallen, whether from war or the ravages of life. You do them proud as they did all of us. Thank you for your continuing service.
Thank you very much! I sent the DVD to Don Reid of "The Statler Brothers" and he sent me an e-mail telling me that the video brought him to tears. What a guy!
Thank you Statlers for this great tribute, and thank you Charlie co., and every soldier that served. If your reading this,"WELCOME HOME".
