  • I think the hero should choose Erana not because of some love interest for himself, but because ultimately her life would benefit EVERYONE! The wooing thing is just a perk.

  • Ya Katrina for sure! Remember that scene with her in leather and the whip? meow.

  • I didn't agree with this follow through. Though Katrina was evil she wasn't the evil that Baba Yaga or Ad Avis was. Even her tarot card the queen of swords was not inverted. She fell in love with the hero and give her life to save him. You can't help but to fall for a girl like that. The Hero from quest for glory 1 onward had no love interest until Katrina came around. So it would make more sense if he saved Katrina rather than Erana because he never knew Erana in person to fall in love with.

  • I agree, her soul was tainted by evil, and her soul tortured, a paladins duty is to help free tortured souls regardless of what they have done. To show them the way of good.

  • I wish there was a way to save both.

  • Your life just about gets sliced in half by saving one, I'm not sure if you could afford to slice it in half twice considering the rest of the fighting necessary to finish the game.

  • True, but 1/2 times 1/2 still leaves you with 1/4. Then you just have to leave your stamina grinding for afterwards. Just treadmill past the point of exhaustion, slamming Healing Potions as neccessary.

  • @SchlossRitter save the game and replay it lol

  • @cwxzeng

True, but I meant in the same playthrough.

Also, it's funny that two different people responded on the same day to comments I posted in two different videos in this series over four months ago.

  • Poor Katrina.

  • why are you still alive if you gave your life for her?

  • Only half...

  • @unrealrush7 My guess is that the Guardian was testing your sincercity, your willingness to give your life, and was content with a courageous reply. Besides, the Hero probably FELT as if he gave his life after the Guardian worked him over.

  • Noooooo! Katrinaaaa!

  • I see you picked Erana. That's good & all, but I don't see why not Katrina, seeing that she sacrificed her life for you, previously.

  • The choice was presumably made because Katrina cannot be wooed by a Paladin.

  • @OvaltinePatrol I was kinda puzzled by that and had to chalk it up to Katrina not being used to not being a vampire anymore. If you do pick her, she shrouds her island with a spell to avoid the sun. One a side note, did you know the Hero can marry Elsa and Nawar too?

  • What Ovaltine Patrol said - plus the Paladin gets the bonus at the end of QG4 of a 'love scene' between himself and Erana, so it's kind of a logical follow up. Kind of. :)

  • that scene can also be got be the wizard if he had completed all the dream sequences or at least I think it canbe done since the wizard is the only character that can marry everybody in the game.

  • Everyone gets that scene if you dream with Erana. Just different words.

  • Well, Katrina DID Geas the hero, nearly unleash Avoozl, and she was the one who put his life in danger to begin with (teleporting him to Mordavia, among other things...)

Erana, by contrast, gave her life for EVERYONE in order to stop Avoozl the first time... not to mention, she was not a vampire, nor evil, and she was an active force for good in the world... that helps.

  • @punymoron As a, very, late tack-end to what ClassicLetsPlay said, the character guide says Katrina isn't suitable for a Paladin. Maybe she's turn down a Paldin character?

On a side note, a fighter or thief can marry Elsa and a thief can marry Nawar.

  • @punymoron Erana is a selfless, philanthropic being of love and light. She sacrificed herself to keep Avoozl from entering and ending the world. Katrina was an evil vampire who was willing to more or less end the world for everybody else so that she would be able to walk around during the daytime. She sacrificed herself for the hero, sure, but it was made quite clear earlier in QFG4 that if the hero were successful in summoning Avoozl, she'd have converted him to a vampire afterward.
