@Itouchthephone If you're referring to tebori technique more painful is debatable. The needles themselves are shaped differently than a machines needles. Tebori inflicts less trauma to the skin but is known to be more bruising but the skin is known to heal quicker.

the exception is if you get it on a bony part, like your ribs, but if you choose to get it there then you should be able to get through it alright - varies from person to person
