i have 3 aros in a 6 ft tank check it out and rate them please. your fish is amazing mate you cant have a silver aro in a tank without getting drop eye as you know it is inevatable. Stop the shit if your going to say get a bigger tank buy a big one yourself and shove it up your arse you twats! we are human and they are fish get over it we keep them how we want you jumped up know it alls !
a 5 gallon tank for an arowana? waay to small my friend the smallest thay need is atleast 75 gallon, the best is anyway from 100 gallon - 400 gallon there not like most fish that grow to the size of the tank, they grow and grow and grow no matter what
drop eye on a silver arowana in a glass aquarium is common. seeing one without drop eye in a glass aquarium is rare. nothing has been proven to stop drop eye except putting them in a pond. nice fish btw.
what makes arowanas' eyes dropped is the owner feed them food that sinks or swim in the bottom tank. Arowanas will pick up a habbit of looking down to search for food when they're hungry, and end up with dropped eye. There's no cure for dropped eye problem.
its too old and will probably die soon. no one wants a old fish even if it is big. my suggestion. eat if. hahaha i mean seriously wouldnt that be a waste just to have it suffer in that little old tank. and it is more economical. all you need is a good chef.
Can someone tell me EVERYTHING i need for a arowana i'm 15 and i want to get one but ihave like no idea what i need so if someone could please tell me ty
nice arowana, but its got drop eye. poor thing. how old is it? it took 9 years for mine to get almost that big until it died a few years back. aros make good pets cause they got a ton of personality, but when they die its like losing a good friend.
the drop eye is from feeding it too much live and fatty foods, so fat builds up in the eye socket and causes the eye to "drop", which is a burden for fishkeepers and fish alike.
drop eye is from a buldup of fat behind the eye socket. Its from eating too much fatty foods like feeder fish. This arow isnt actively swimming and its fins arnt extended, so you can see she isnt happy where shes kept.
Actually, it's the exact opposite. Dropeye can happen from either bad water quality or simply having no gravel; the reflection can annoy the fish and eventually it gets dropeye just from getting used to looking at the bottom.
It however isn't fatal and can be repaired with a very minor surgery.
andyrsturbo... of course i feed it from the top! how is it possible to feed from the bottom, or u mean the foods sink at the bottom of the tank? NO! the food is floating type one, Hikari tropical food stick cost around US$25 per packet of 250g.
Hey bro, most people either just keep them by themselves or with three or more. This way, they won't focus on just the other. Hope this helps. And by the way, a 75 gallon tank will NOT be big enough for two and maybe not even one, especially a rectangular tank.
