He's basically saying in code to Watson "which one do you want to take, the two small ones or the big one?". And of course, he decides to take on the two small ones.
Imagine a roast dinner. The meat is like the main part of the meal (the Dredger) and the potatoes are like the side dish (the Arsonists).
...Well being french myself, I can see the effort put in the text... but Robert's french is pretty poor xD (...Don't misjudge what I said. I'm probably one of RDJ's biggest fan. I love him SO MUCH !! but I don't know who told him how to say that texte but it's weirdly said and his pauses are weirdly placed in the text.) Just a so AWESOME scene from Sherlock Holmes... I'll just watch it again... and again. Oh and once more :D
The french dialogues are : "Y a un problème ?" "Un moment s'il vous plaît." "Je suis pas pressé." "Un moment s'il vous plaît." "Je ne sais pas. Allons-y mon frère !" "Qui t'a envoyé ?" "Tu le sais très bien." "Bizarre que tu fasses le boulot pour quelqu'un de mort." "Il est revenu d'entre le mort." "Vivant ou pas, dis-moi où je peux le trouver." "Y a une chose plus terrifiante que toi et ton jouet. Cours petit lapin, cours." "Avec plaisir."
I love it when Sherlock fights. I also love it when he speaks French. A kick back to his French grandmother Vernet (or is that great-grandmother), not sure. I've been trying to map out Sherlock's family tree. It's actually quite interesting.
@RS3D140 Essentially the music from this scene is a variation on a country riff known as "Blackberry Blossom" in a sincopated scale. You can look it up and see a banjo player playing pretty much the same tune under "Mean Mary"
Can someone explain to me why does Holmes ask ´´ meat or potatoes´´? I didn´t really catch that.
