I saw this film on SKY MOVIES for the 100th time (at least) last night and was captivated from the opening shot. Madonna should have won an Oscar for her performance - and I'm not even

@TheTonypops Definitely the best thing she's ever done. It destroys the generic Broadway singers, including the overrated woman who starred in this show. While I respect her songwriting and her occasional beauty in her music, this rendition of Andrew Lloyd Web shows how deeply moving Madonna can be with her voice and heart. I've seriously had it with all my music snob friends who won't give Madonna the time of day.

I am far from being an overly enthusiastic fantatical Madonna fan..though I am 46 and pretty much followed her career from the beginning..I stood in line OUTSIDE on a freezing cold winter evening to go see her in Evita, only because I knew she was going to give an amazing performance, which she did.. In my opinon she deserved to win, and should have won the Academy Award Oscar for Best Actress. Her performance is amazing... Kirk..Montreal, Canada

I can't agree more. Madonna put her heart and soul into the Evita project. I was so happy to see her win the Golden Globe because the foreign press is not afraid to embrace the grace of Madonna. The Oscar people on the other hand are a bit more conservative and were afraid to honor Madonna's hard work.
