Its all about, form. If one uses too much weight with poor form it hurts you, because you have a lot of weight and your not performing to rep properly.
When I lift my spotter does not help, his hands are not on the bar
but his hands are following the bar. I do the same to him.
If one does the reps correctly later you will move up in weight later on

no man what you need to do is warm up set before lifting. For example if I'm doing shoulders that day I'll do a set of shoulder press of like 20-25 reps. Just to get the blood flowing into the muscle before proceeding with the other exercises.

You might tear your bicep doing those shrugs with a mixed grip. I'd use a standard knuckles forward grip with straps.

no man what you need to do is warm up set before lifting. For example if I'm doing shoulders that day I'll do a set of shoulder press of like 20-25 reps. Just to get the blood flowing into the muscle before proceeding with the other exercises.
Stretching is good after lifting.
