This is how they would run it back in the day. The N&W for instance would run with two articulateds up front and a pusher in back. It was because you can only run so long/heavy a train before you pull cars off the tracks in the corners or break the couplers. So they ran in this configuration. You see this today with diesels. Some on front some on back. Of course the UP never ran three BBs like this from what I've heard.
why dont you put all the big boys in the front on the train
