Hey, thanks. I ended up filming most of this out the side window of the ute and the back of the canopy, but was quite surprised at how good it did turn out, with luck there will be part 2 for this video around january...
I just love your video, actually all of your vids are great. And I hope to drive a train in NZ in the near future.
To answer your question about chasing the milktrain. It certainly depends on how heavy the train is, but the problem with trains with liquids is that inside the liquids starts to shake. As a traindriver you want to avoid that because that has a bad influence on the braking.
Excellent compilation, nicely edited.. I don't think that the weather detracted from the quality at all. some of the track-work needs a little attention though. :>)
I like how the trucker and the engineer wave to each other at 3:10. Cool video! :D

great stuff, Bad luck with the weather tho...
these trains easy to chase?
Rawrnz 2 years ago
Yeah the loaded milk trains are quite easy. Anything north of Whareroa was difficult for us. I suppose it depends how heavy the train is?
NZRAIL 2 years ago
sounds good, so pretty much should be an easy chase from palmy perhaps?
oh wellz look forward to ur next vid

Yeah I think so. If I end up testing it out before do you I'll let you know.
