don't expect the drz 440 will be upto the level of a crf 450 performancewise, but you can make it wheely in 4th gear allthough i don't see the point. i could clutch mine up in 3rd gear with 15/40 gearing so that's not too bad.topspeed was +- 165 km/h.
do concider getting the kit, eventhough it's slower then the crf 450,your benefit with the drz 440 is that it's super reliable!
my drz 440 was to be compared with a 2000 husqvarna 610 SM
ive been thinking about getting the kit, but what ive been looking into is will the 440cc kit put the bike up to about the same amount of power as a 450cc bike. like a crf450 for example. ive never been able to get my bike up in 4th gear, and i was curious if by any chance yours will. because i want quite a bit more and i dont have 7000 bucks to spend on a new bike and i have everything stock on it except the sprockets.
it's a substantial powergain, especially if you have the 39mm FCR carb.
s for numbers,i can only guess, say if you would have the 36mm carb now with std 400cc engine and you swaped those for the 39mm FCR carb + the athena 440cc kit i guestimate about 10 rwhp of gain.definately worth the money. it gives you a whole new bike.
i'd say,if you can get your hands on one,go for it!!
