@DimeraFan28 Sure, blame the victims for the stupid ass guy with a gun. Sure, it'd be smarter to wear bright colored clothing, but it'd be ever smater to actually see and know what you're shooting before you actually, you know, shoot. You could cry foul on both sides here, but the true idiocy lies in the guy who shot them.
Just thought I would mention something.... they never say all the exact details in the episodes that involve "assailant/victim scenarios." Mostly due to how when these episodes are shot, most of the time, they are still in a legal battle or pressing charges, hindering them from saying what "really happened" versus what "happened." That or they do it for protection of certain identities and integrity of the individuals.
My aunt's neighbor shot at my sister and I when he thought we were a "deer". He freaked out when he realized that he could have easily hit us. I don't know why people fire guns without seeing what they are shooting at clearly.
At 1:43 when he hollars at the hunter that they were both hit he has his camelflauge coat on, pause at 1:45 with him standing in front of the cam and he has his flannel shirt on, and at 2:00 his camel flauge coat is back on.
That guy that shot them is one dumb ass mother fucker and should have been arrested. How the hell you mistake two people on an open road for a bear? bears are way bigger than people. Then that dumb ass just left them. Wtf.
Officer Greg L. here: They should be trained to hunt the way officers are trained at the police academy. You're absolutely not allowed to fire unless you're positive that your subject is not only a person but the suspect in question; i.e., the person who shot at you, the one you're pursuing.
This is exactly why I don't like hunting (or if people are gonna do it, at least go WAY out in the middle of nowhere). I'm sure it was an honest mistake on the dude's part, but he was even more irresponsible to be hunting at (almost) night.
yes, it was the hunters fault. It was also their fault for not wearing reflective clothing when they know there are hunters around, but more the hunters fault. He not only hunted at night, which is illeagal, he didn't check on what he was shooting at. Irresponsible hunters like that give the rest of us bad names.
"simple", you are hunting bear, you see movement, so it MUST be a bear, so you shoot. Remember to NEVER shoot at MOVEMENT, only shoot at the bear, deer, etc, once you see it and can EASILY identify it as the animal you are hunting.
@HaggisMcMutton263 Because trigger-happy morons get anxious and they shoot before they've actually attained their target, which ends up being a person and not an animal. If they were cool headed (and if the US would change the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution to bear arms), there might be less gun-wielding hicks in the bush.
@HaggisMcMutton263 i guess somehow when they were standing together the looked like a bear and the dog probably looked like a bear cub so even if he could not make out the people completely he thought he saw a bear cub and immediatly shot what was next to it which was in his mind a mama bear
LOL @ People thinking that this is footage from the actual event.

I think that Couple should've worn some bright-colored clothes, or they should've yelled at that guy, then that wouldn't have happened.

Proof that people make mistakes just like everyone else can makes mistakes or errors.
Watch, I'll bet all the anti-gun nuts will crowd to this page and spew their usual bullshit about how guns and hunting should be banned.
I will say this once to those idiots: GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, STUPID PEOPLE WITH GUNS KILL PEOPLE.
