Jig rhythm= say "bangers and sausages" over and over!
Reel= say "blackendecker blackendecker" over and over! Now you know this , Dervish taught me! And yes, most Canadian roots music is Scottish influenced. Just saw NM last nite in Virginia. Fantastic show, great band, full house of thousands there to see her.
love her! her and her uncle buddy are legend. I'm so happy i found out about them, this is REAL talent, and amazing fiddling. I wish i could play like this, she is incredible.
What an amazing talent....I've been playing Americian fiddle for almost 30 years and I can't even come close to this style, especially the celtic jig style.
We first saw her, uhh, maybe 10 years ago at the Winnipeg Folk Festival. My wife and I had decide to go to different stages (there were six or so during the day). I was at her stage and after the show, I told my wife this was someone she had to see! At a later workshop, we both saw her and agreed - there was something very special!
