At 3:46, they say that 5400 survivors have passed away in the 6 months it took them to film this movie, but at 5:42, they say at least 1 survivor died since the beginning of the filming. What is the deal? Which is fact?
@reedPWNED it means that while they were filming 5400 holocaust survivors died but by the time you are watching it at least 1 holocaust survivor has died
I am so sorry for my ignorance...but I can't help to ask, where are the families (except for those lost in the holocaust) of these old people? In our country, despite how old you get, your family members are socially bound (or face disgrace) to take care of you...money or pension is not an issue because children contribute for their old parents to pay for medical services....old people in our country are majority being taken good care and happy as their children took great care of them>
This is not good that there isn't a fund that makes these Holocaust survivors top priority for medicines and healthy, protected lifestyles. How can the ball be dropped like that?
There is a Jewish woman Judith Sheindlin who are judge in a show called Judge Judy. She is extremely rich, so why dont she give some of her wealth to help the Jews in Israel? Judith Sheindlin have a income around 35000 dollars per day so i think she could afford a great deal. In my country Denmark there is no difference between Jews and not Jews, all people will get the same when they are getting old plus what they maybe have saved So you need to change to better social services in all countries
um.. because she is a jew? I don't want to sound mean but I guess I will have to be the one to say this: how come other countries are letting them live as human being an Israel- the country that EXISTS because of them simply does not care? I can't understand... It is so sad that these people are there because they feel at home but the jewish community simply doesn't give a damn.
If i had one million dollers I would donate it in some way to help them, my heart cries out for them and I hope whoever is still remaining is doing well <3
esther! oh my.. anyone at sight of this one way or another will feel sorry for the victims.. oh.. why can't i help? why am i still so weak? i hate this world for that.. i hate it when i prove to myself there are countless people in need and i can't do anything because i'm just a poor little kid back here in my country.. oh how i wish.. where is esther now? i mean her remains? was she given the right burial? oh pls tell me yes..
Its so sad that jews still have to suffer after the Holocaust. Can't their lives be happy again? They have suffered through so much they deserve happiness. I think it is useful for us too see how these poor people suffer and still live in horrendous conditions so we can help them donate money. People should look up to them for going through that. They should feel immensely proud that survivors are living even near them and if they dont realise that i dont know even know if they are humans.
The survivors suffered through a horror no one deserved. Israel is not doing enough to help those who cannot help themselves in their last days on this earth. Shame on them! This is the first time I was even aware that this was going on. Why has this been a secret?
this is so sad. Why are they doing it to these people in your country? Havent you guys used them over and over again to gain sympathy in the worl. After seeing this my opinion of jews and israel has changed and not for the good.
I can't believe those under Hitler not only did this to them, but some didn't think they did enough! These people are still suffering today. 60 some years of endless depression. So sad :'(
@BEAST4LIF3 She was helped after showing this film by many people. And then she died soon. There are still over 70,000 Holocaust survivors in need. Helping Hand Coalition was formed to try to help.
There is a "March of Remembrance" with Holocaust survivors giving testimony on the steps of the Capitol Building in Washington DC this Yom HaShoah (April 11, 2010)
That evening there is a benefit concert for Helping Hands Coalition (who made this film) at Immanuels Church in Silver Spring
National Mall near the Washington Monument 10 AM prayer, noon-March of Remembrance to Capitol, 1-3PM testimonies
is there an address for donations??? i don't have much but i would gladly give to these holocaust survivors. if theres info on how to help in any way, please let me know. thank u so much xoxo God Bless xoxo
ooh my goodness...i'm so sad...my eyes filled with tears....israel should look after these survivors...they talked about holocaust but but never felt the pain these people had gone through...God bless the holocaust survivors..i luv u esther..u r so innocent....peace
This saddens me deeply that after all they went through, after the torture, starvation, and loss that has happened to them, they still had to suffer even more in their last days. People in the holocaust deserve to be remembered with the utmost respect. They are truly the most notorious survivors of human indignity, among other injustices. . it breaks my heart that they died alone..God rest their souls..
it's safe to say Holocaust survivers are some of the biggest badasses this world will ever see. It may be semi innapropriate to say, but seriously, everyone else in this world complaining about anything doesn't have a toenail on these strong men and women. talk about reparations that are needed and actually make sense.
This vid. was deep, I was just doing a history report and this came to mind. It's upsetting how she couldn't leave her house for four years and sometimes we get frustrated if our car breaks down... we can at least walk (with all respect to those with disabilities) or we all have a mean of transportation.... and most of us have food on our tables.... more interviews should be posted on youtube.
God Bless those survivors, and that a change may come around for the ones that are still living...
She lost her family and then she wasn't treated well in Israel. but she still smiled and seemed so nice. Why didn't you tell us about this earlier? I would have donated a lot of money to her... I'm crying right now.. why do bad things only happen to good people????
This is unfair and unacceptable. It is heart breaking that Esther had to live the last few years of her life in such a circumstance let alone the suffering she previously faced. Shame on those who let these poor people down.
Whatever happens in this world, we must never, under any extant circumstances, permit the world to forget these people. For those of them who are now dead, requiescat in pace, rest in peace.
The man starts saying right before the 3:00 mark in this video "For our sake, don't forget". We must not let this world forget!!!! Spread the word about these interviews here on YouTube (Parts 1 and 2). When that man started saying that, I finally lost it. I don't cry easily, but this is so sad. Esther's story is so sad. In Part 1, she said, "For me, hunger is nothing. I'm used to it". I hope that when she died she passed away peacefully.
I'm crying right now because of Esther's story. It is such a shame that she died. I wish that her life could have been more enjoyable after the terrible treatment that she went through so long ago. She is one with the universe now, I hope. :(
To ScientiaVeritasEtLux -- Same here. It's hard not to cry. In Part 1 of the interviews, Esther said, "For me, hunger is nothing. I'm used to it". So many people in this world take so much for granted - even their own lives. It's so sad that Esther had to endure so much before she died. Right before the 3:00 mark that man started saying repeatedly, "For our sake, don't forget". How haunting. We must not let this world forget!! For everyone that reads this tell others to look at these interviews!

Both facts are true:
5,400 Holocaust survivors passing away each 6 months.
It mean 30 of them passing away each day.
So, less then each hour each one of them.
Length of the original film was 1 hour .....

When will we see Palestinians and Jews live in peace with eachother.
So that both can invest in care, and not weapons.
