Yes, there's no such thing as crosshairs in real life, but in real life you have more of a feel for where your gun is pointing based off of feel and such.

Ya the M16 only has Burst and Semi the M4 can do Semi.Burst, and Auto. and in this game the M4 has full you have no idea what you are talking about. From what i can see you don't have this game and have never played it.
Actually the M16A2 has burst, the A1 has a different flash suppressor and introduced the forward assist. Canadian C7A1/A2's with the heavier barrel has no burst setting, only semi and auto.

It's kind of confusing, I may be wrong but the very first M16s issued to Vietnam were either M16s or AR15s. The A1 was the Armed Forces standardizing their rifles as the Air Force had M16s and the Army had XM16E1s. The Army asked for the forward assist and some other random shit. The first M16s were issued like '64 or something so the one you're talking about is the improved later version. The assist is to make sure the bolt is fully closed and the extractor is clipped to the lip of the round.
If you look on the right hand side of your M16 there's a round tube like button that extends a bit out of the side of the upper receiver, that's the forward assist. When loading, depending on which Army taught you, you're supposed to pull the charging handle, insert a mag, depress the bolt release on the left side of the receiver and then tap or hit the forward assist to make sure the bolt locked forward. Don't ask how I know this...I have way too much spare time.
