  • 90230 really does have the best horn!:) 5*****

  • love that horn!

  • you guys in Illinois can have 90278 back, i have to see that peace of shit 2 times a day here in kelso washington, its so fucken gross

  • @joshmeister4449 i feel the same way you do about 90278. Only this is something different. I see Coaster F40PHM2-C 2103 the past 6 times i ride the coaster or railfan it.

  • Phase 5 is better than phase v

  • @TalfinFilmz09 they're the same...

  • whats with the heavy breathing and shit...

  • I Have 52 modeled in HO Scale back in Phase III

  • Wow, it's looking a little out of its element there. Nice catch!

  • Awesome!

It's sad that beautiful F40PH is silent. I like it better when a train locomotive has engine noise. That's just me.

5/5 stars, and added to favorites. Great work!

  • wow col small station

  • How the heck do you control one locomotive from the other locomotive without having an engine in the one you drive. This is kind of strange.

  • It's a process. Pretty cool actually.

  • Good catch!!

  • I was aboard the Illinois Zephyr on December 19, 2008, and the Amtrak Cascades engine was at the front at the time. I thought it might have been because of the ice storm we had. However, since you filmed this video on December 14, 2008, its likely that there are reasons why Amtrak Cascades was used.

  • 90230 is now on Michiganand Illinois services, I've got 90230 on video through Michigan a few times.

  • Nice video! It's nice to see a good looking amtrak unit instead of the usual blah stuff we see here in Ill. That makes the Illinois Zephyr fun to watch. They can run darn near anything on that train! Will definately be trackside!

  • i just saw this train in st.louis a few days ago 5 out of 5.

  • you just give it back to us! :((! NO FAIR!

  • You guys on the West Coast have a better variety of Amtrak trains already. This unit goes great in Illinois's sea of boring Phase 5 P42DCs, Cabbages, and Dash-8s.

  • @BoxcarFrank Depends on where you are...The "West coast" is a big area...

  • i mean. forget what i just said, i saw this train at union station

  • yeah ive seen a casecades loco heading towards union station. it was an F40 instead

  • AMTK lead P029 when I rode it

  • I'm STILL the only person from the Chicago area who has not seen this yet. It's doing laps on the CN Chicago sub now so all hopes of me seeing it are now gone.

  • Unless it ends up on the Chicago Subdivision again, which it very well may.

  • When it goes back to Washington it will take the Chicago sub. The question is on what train? Does anyone even know what train it came into Chicago on?

  • Empire Builder.

  • Wow. Ok, not gonna lie, didnt expect that. lol

  • No one knows when anything good is coming on that train. Hell, for all I know, Cascade F59PHIs could very well be trailing on it to get repairs at Chicago just like the AmCal units on the California Zephyr and SW Chief.

  • Funny you should mention the F59's... lol. There have been allot of those on 7 & 8 lately.

  • Cascades right? I never know what goes on with that train.

  • Almost positive they are all Cascades. I think there are still two in Chicago but I know for a fact that there is still one.

  • I can check for both of ya.

  • "I don't know what the purpose of having this unit here is"

For foamers, like yourself to shout "HOLY SHIT!"

    ;D

  • Well, the thing kicks ass, even though it is Amtrak.

  • Alright foamite.

  • And proud of it :)

  • Not you, Reagon.

  • He was joking. He's a foamer too and admits to it.

  • well, doi.
