Rather the, now controlled product, becomes monopolized- often by cartels and syndicates. Because it would take the current drug trade out of the hands of gangsters and criminals. It's the same problem that occurred during alcohol prohibition, which was the primary source of income for al capone, and others.
Also, drug addicts, like alcoholics, could get the social intervention and medical attention they need, rather than just being thrown in jail, where they usually just learn how to be a worse criminal.

I always say, "Questions are statements diskized as an quandary". When has a talk show host ever asked an question he didn't already think he knew the answer to? The host's question to Ron Paul, are worded in an way to discredit him, and shame him on national TV. This is done to persuade national opinion. This in my opinion why the media and news organizations sucks.

I thought that was great. I've never seen Ron Paul so animated. But the message is clear and true. If heroin were made legal today, I don't think that anybody would rush out and use it. The very idea that we need a law to keep someone from doing something is stupid. People break the laws anyway.
