  • The narrator sounds creepy.

  • Dubs always ruin animes. So badly they shouldn't even exist. If your not old enough to read, damn why the hell are you watching this? You probably won't understand the morale. Dubs never have the emotion in their voices. The Japanese make it 1000%+ more emotional due to their incredible voice acting skills!

  • @LoneSpiritHD Because the training program for dubbing voice actors was underfunded. (qwop reference :P) It's true, however.

  • where can I watch the whole movie???

  • The dub makes me want to throw up. Too dramatic, and too idiotic-sounding to match this movie. They were definitely trying too hard...

  • is this the same VAs from the movie? sounds different. been a while since ive seen it though.

  • Subs FTW!!!

  • ew the dub makes it so corny...wtf!!

  • oh shivers ~ yuck english dub. I had to click pause right away

  • english dub ruins everithing...

  • omg english dub -.- ruins everything.

  • so sad,, i can't hold my tears

  • well worth the $91 it cost to get one of the last *new* copies of this in region 1 dvd. Well worth it in my opinion.

  • What is the name of this song? I love this anime.

  • im replying to those who said that they hated this movie;

the directors point of view is for you to see the movie like a dream. dont see it over and over and over.

  • OMG this is so poetic!!!

  • For the love of god, will someone please pick up the rights to this movie and release it again? I would kill for a copy of this movie... (Ive seen it on the internet, don't worry, but its not the same)

  • @akantorslayer07 put a ***SPOILER ALERT*** at the start of a comment if you're going to give away plot developments please.

  • what i hate about 5cm per second

is that if i watch it again i wont feel the same way

i did the first time i saw it. because i already know what happens. =/

if you havent seen it please do

its on the internet in sub and dub form

    =]

  • don't waste ur tears guys :(((

  • it's hard to understand this movie last time i saw this movie i was 10 years old so do you think i should watch this movie again?

  • yup

  • The movie came out in english in 2008...

I'm going to assume you aren't 11, so I think you're thinking of a different movie.

  • i guess so

  • do they have the eng movie?

  • IS THAT DAVE FROM SAIYUKI I HEAR?? I could be wrong, but his low sexy voice is very distinctive XDD

LOL I wanna watch this now, in Japanese and English.

  • why the heck is it called 5 cm per second!?

  • 5cm/s is how fast Cherry Blossoms fall.

Also indicates that it's how fast someone falls in love.

  • @kt2005 I always thought that 5 centimeters per second was representative of how fast two people drift apart as time passes by? Kind of how slowly, the flower separates from the tree as it floats down.

  • @kt2005 Wow!!! Thats amazing!!!! I learnned something new today!!! lol

  • @kt2005 5 seconds = 5 heart beats, the amount of time The Beauty took to fall in love with The Beast.

  • @kt2005 Also the Intention in the Title was to show how people are together , but with time can drift apart just like the cherry blossoms , they are together on the tree , but with time they drift apart in the wind

  • what it and U'll understand ;)

  • because at the beging the girl says thats how fast the cherry blosenms fell. and the petals come back in it and remind the boy of the girl -sniffs- and its fast they fall in love please watch the movie........

  • Ugh, the dub sounds horrible. Just watched the subbed version and the Japanese voices add so much to the atmosphere. These actors sound like they're trying too hard...

  • It's like James Lipton from the 60s.....LOL

  • @fckbeans They sound horrible? I thought they were quite nice.

  • @Luminahawke I think so too

  • @fckbeans You are right =P... When it is in English or any other language besides Japanese, it takes away about 75% of the movie. The voices in the Japanese one helped show the voice of a young Japanese boy and girl. It also helps with the atmosphere like you said...

People should just watch the subbed version.

  • @fckbeans You just described almost all Dubs xD. I hate dubs so much, Subbed is the way to go always.

  • the art is simply gorgeous, and it's obvious that he's improved greatly in his drawings of people's faces. I remeber watching Voices of Distant Star and thinking, "Why are they so unporportionate...?" It's a work of art, but if you're looking for something good to pass the time with for entertainment, I wouldn't choose this film.

  • This looks pretty good! I'll try and watch it sometime.

  • 0_0 was it a full length feature?

... all I can find is a 20 minute short.

Is that the film 'cause in this trailer I see some clips I didn't see in the short one.

  • Thank you I been looking for the english version. I love it. fayefaye001 you are the best

  • did he make a new anime for 2008 or 2009 cool

    like this one

  • I think I have a new favorite Shinkai film, my favorite was Voices of a Distant Star, but this one is just so amazing. Place Promised was a disapointment since I liked Voices so much, but this film here is beyond my expectations, far beyond.

  • spledid. this film is just so beautiful. :)

  • Is it better than voices of a distant star? If you have to rate 5 centimeters per second on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the best, what would you rate it as?

  • I love this film. It is indeed a masterpiece. The english dub was very good I have to say.

  • It finally came out today in english dub. AHHHHHHHH cant wait for it to arrive.

  • a tru anime work of art. the most beautiful piece of film ever seen.
