Thsi is my favourite song of all times sung by the Neville brothers just makes it sound so awesome and you just want to play it over and over again which I do. Ive listened to others sing it and they dont do justice to the song like AAron Neville does.He has a voice you want to go to sleep to.
I think leonard cohen wrote great lyrics but his metre for the song was very sombre. It sounded like a funeral dirge. I love this version by Aaron Neville because he makes it sounds so sweet and beautiful. The lyrics of course, are probably not meant to be cheerful but this version is just so lovely to listen to and hum to, I think the Neville Brothers have done it great justice. This is my fav version of the song. I never would have listened to it, if it had not been sung like this.
This is one of the most beautuful songs of all time. You HAVE to find the original recording. It's not so different really - one of the most beautiful recordings ever put down. They're deep into their performance, and so intrepid at this point into this show and Aaron is not as subtle. Find the original. You will really love it.
