Changing lanes over the white line, illegal. Passing in a construction zone, illegal. Speeding a construction zone (cop was passing everyone), illegal. Passing on the right, possibly illegal. Most of the construction zones are pretty haphazardly done. Given the 55mph limit, it must have been a tight switch.
Many of the 65mph "switchovers" I go through can't really accomodate a truck at that speed. Once a piece of the new highway is complete, traffic is diverted to it and often bumps are involved and not-wide enough lanes painted. I wouldn't want to be next to a truck. One dicey example is in Omaha Nebraska on I-80 near the 13th street exit.
Looks like the truck driver was not sure if it was going down to one lane or staying double and took over both lanes then moved back right when it was clear ( I have been there you don't want to be stuck in a lane that is closed ahead in truck and have to stop) . The cop looked like he was in a hurry and whipped over to overtake him on the right (not legal and typical 4 wheeler) but the driver certainly should have been using his mirrors while moving over.
I love at the end of this video the officer says "oh shit", no kidding if you watch how the officer went from the high speed lane to try and pass the truck on the right in a construction zone .
