You're right. In North Mexico, where I live, nobody would dare to cook on a gas grill. We got a great tree to make charcoal called mesquite. Texans know vere well what I talk about.
@gnelson651 Any starter, even gasoline, would work well. In the end, any starter will be burn out with no trace left by the time you place food on the grill.

Really? Use lighter fluid soaked charcoal? Why not marinate your meat in gasoline and call it good.
Use a charcoal starter instead. Weber makes a good one for about $15 bucks at Lowe's..
