Haha, people it's not THAT big of a deal that he smashed the guitar. It was probably given to him from Gibson for that reason and that reason alone. It's not the same guitar he usually uses. And trust me this man has/will/always will be giving his heart and soul to charities. Please don't read into things so much it just causes drama!

I was there and I have to admit that it shocked me a little when he smashed the guitar. I thought it was just a rock thing. He was really in to the evening and everything. The audience just went nuts when he did it. But, he is a rocker for sure and that's what rockers do. I hope it was something he did for charity though.

Wow I really think that guitar smash was symbolic of the end of an "era". Just think of it this way his AC guitar was auctioned off for the American Cancer Society for 20,000 dollars. And it really sad because the end of the tour has come and no more david for another 64 days! lol Anywhoo he deserved everything he got/gets and he is an extrodinary man. I love him to death! TRUE ROCK STAR...I KEEP SAYING SO!! I have been rockin and rollin for many years now. I was at a concert where Peter Townsend smashed his guitar as well as a lot of the other equipment. AND, yes, I was there when Jimi Hendrix smashed his guitar on stage. David Cook does it like a pro!! He's a singer,songwriter, performer and also an entertainer!! The man has it all! Stay tuned!

justintime... I couldn't agree with you more!! It's been bothering me since I first saw this. I love DC, but I can actually say he broke my heart when he did this. Living with 2 Guitar players, they have tought me that a Guitar is an extention of your mind, body & soul. To smash it is being disrespectful to yourself! Also the Bands & most of the Audience 40 years ago were all druged out. Not cool then, not cool now.

MFrance09, I love David too. I'm sure there are other people who believe it was just destructive, and didn't find it "hot". I'm not sure it was David's idea to smash the guitar last night. When he smashed the acoustic guitar on the show it was the producers' idea. He/they should donate a guitar to VH-1's Save The Music Foundation for every guitar they destroy. David doesn't need to smash a guitar to prove he's a rock star. I hope this is not going to become a habit at the end of all his tours.

Ya he really doesnt have a lot of choice in the matter. He can do anything he wants on stage but FOX calls all the shots on what he has to do. Like i said think of it this way, His white AC guitar he used on the show was auctioned off for 20,000 dollars for the American Cacner Society

Ya and my uncle works for FOX television and works on the Set Of AI and works with them b4 they go on tour thats how I know. My uncle didnt know why they made them stop Mavid but he was no part in that

Right, I knew that on the TV show Fox/AI/19 called the shots. I meant on the stage show they may not have free choice for everything because of the Mavid. Sorry I didn't make that clear. Thanks!
