I see your point, but it's not like it's uncommon in sitcoms, and LEAST of all Frasier. Every "call" Frasier gets in the show is actually celebrities calling in, actors, maybe singers, and such in serious works. A lot of them I don't know (mostly American celebrities) but it's the principle of it all.

In fact, the Scottish man right at the start is an actor, too. A role of his that comes to mind off the top of my head is The Mummy and its sequel.

@IAmCaptainMarvel Dear Captain, I am well aware of the celebrity guest status of this show, being a fan for more than 12 years. I just wished Costello had been more funny in this (after all he was hilarious in 30 Rock). As much as I adore this show, it has its bad episodes too, and I guess this is one of them, It was poor writing is all.This episode just feels a little rushed.

Really? Ben over more than $3000 from one single customer over e year period? Hmmm and all the times he pays for others as well or has people meet him there that also spends? Tacky and totally ridiculous! Frasier and Niles are idiots! I would easily find another establishment and enjoy a fine and noise-free environment and forget Nervosa. They really should seek help.

@fireserpent26 its a tv show... not reality... no proprietor with good customer service focus in their right mind would ever alienate any clientele of any worth over such nonsense (but it creates the premise for the entire episode story, which is weak, but still)... just like you will never have a blaring musician in a coffee shop to begin with, it would be subtle quite music like acoustic guitar.... but nice cameo by Elvis Costello...

I responded based on the storyline of this show and what i said is correct for both,tv and reality. As for thinking that businesses are too dumb to alienate their clientele,well there are far too many who defy that assumption. Funny epi and totally in character with the Cranes and yes,Costello was a hoot.
