  • Badass knife. I have the U.S.A. made black powder coated version with the kydex sheath and have beat the holy hell out of it. The finish definitely has serious wear but the blade itself is good to go. I was amazed after chopping, hacking, and even testing the tip on oven doors many times, its as if it hasn't even been used. I've had cold steel products for many years and they generally don't disappoint.

  • yours is nice, like the satin finish. i have the bead blasted 420 crap. i might take it to a polishing wheel.

  • I have the same model and the steel is AUS 8A. It's the first run made in Japan. Later runs were 420 and made in Taiwan. The Oyabun made in CarbonV had to be either parkerized or black epoxy coated due to the high carbon content and most of those came with a tactical Kydex sheath. The AUS 8A came with the leather sheath in the original models but I think at the end of it's run you could get it in Kydex. Anyway great vid and awsome tanto!!! Mine has never failed me!

  • How much 4 it ?

  • It reminds me of the kobun! But the kobuns are only $25. Then again the materials aren't as good. -Vincent

  • Love those old cold steel tantos.
