  • I think...no, I KNOW that John Owen-Jones is the best. No need for comparison.

  • do you have any footage or audio of colm in phantom other than them few scenes from the documentary ive been looking all over the place for some

  • I watched Ramin Karimloo perform this on his first day at the Queen's Theatre, truly breathtaking. XD

  • No one beats Colm.

  • Colm :)

  • Wow, I really liked John Owen-Jones. Never realized how good he is!

  • Mark McVey...let the tears flow!!!!

  • john owen jonesssssssssssss

  • Wow, that's an older copy of Peter Karrie isn't it? Awesome, would love to hear the whole thing!

  • Drew Sarich for the win!

  • This doesn't sound like Colm to me....

  • Was the recording of Jeff Leyton taken during the Manchester Tour?

  • Thanks. You should add Alfie Boe too. I just heard him, and he is pretty epic.

Couldn't hear what Leyton was saying, John Owen-Jones is just awesome, and Sarich's grunting was kinda funny...fans, please don't kill me.

  • My favorite is Drew Saich. Maybe I am biased, but hejust adds something new all together.

  • I saw Hans Peter Janssens and I don't think there's anything wrong with his Valjean but I much prefer him as Javert, John Owen Jones is the best here by far

  • I really like Mike Sterling here. :-)

  • The best bit of Colms isn't here!

  • haha i love how like 90 % of all les miserables leads have been in phantom of the opera at some time

  • who's best?

doesnt matter, there isnt a bad one amongst them

I only discovered les mis following susan boyles BGT audition & would love to see the show,

does anyone know if there is a UK tour planned or if its up manchester or newcasle way?

  • No I dont know but I have a little hunch it will be on in London lol.

I've seen it twice and you HAVE to see it. I'd love to see it a third.

And John Owen Jones is the best

  • It's not exactly in your area but there is a tour coming to Cardiff

  • thanks for the tip, iv just been on the net & its coming to manchester soon

  • Jeff Leyton wins hands down :D

  • The greatest guy to command any stage, take on various roles and win an audience over in seconds, without any doubt is Simon Bowman.

A dedicated artiste to his work.

    Amazing talent and vocal range.

Honoured at one time to have crossed paths.

  • Wow! Where did you get all the recordings from?

  • I have my sources, lol

  • Do us a favour and see if you can get your hands on a recording of Dave Willetts doing Valjean. I saw him in Sydney and thought he was superb!

  • Have one but I'm not posting onto youtube anymore

  • Drew Sarich played Jean Valjean? When and where???

  • Broadway from about August 2007 - October 2007. London October 2007 until 6 November 2008

  • 8th of December.

  • John Owen-Jones just owns this character. Colm Wilkinson is a legend, Peter Karrie is amazing. I saw Hans Peter Janssens as Javert two years agos, was an amazing Javert!

  • Agree with everything you said.

  • Im glad!

I met John Owen-Jones and Peter Karrie a few weeks back in Cardiff, they both sang music of the night with Nic Greenshields ( westend u/s) Completly blew me away!

  • I was just listening to that concert earlier.

  • Really? Where can I listen to it?

  • My vote is going to Peter Saul. Saw him a few times, and he was consistantly outstanding. His voice has not had the same training as JOJ, but his overall acting and performance ability, especially the ageing process as the show progresses, was superb. Shame he wasn't given the opportunity to stay on and have a season as Valjean.

  • JOJ rules the roost.

  • Drew is the best by a mile.... To get the full impact you have to see him onstage though... His overall portrayal of Valjean is phenomenal

  • its out of joj drew sarich and pete saul i thought was pretty gd!

  • Any musical which has Gemignani singing must be at leats an hour shorter.

  • pete saul, was glad when i saw him in it. incredible. got his autograph after. amazing. you have to love colm as well though

  • Drew has to be mine...but thats because he is god to me.....i fast forwarded through the others just to get to him.

  • just like sean hannity selectively takes clips of Obama out of context and spins it to sound really bad.

  • Hey PHANTOMfan08, great videos:)! Do you have more of Drew Sarich? It would be great to hear as much as possible of him:).

  • I have a bit of Drew as JVJ, Javert & Enjolras

  • Ok, was Mike Sterling also playing the role of Marius prior the role of Valjean?

  • in the early 90's

  • So he played as Marius in the early 90's and played as some character (can't remember his name) in TAC.

  • Lesgles

  • Hey PHANTOMfan08, great videos:)! Do you have more of Drew Sarich? It would be great to hear as much as possible of him:).

  • Well funnily enough, im doing a student edition with his daughter. He played the roles of Fueily, Enjolras, Marius and Valjean. (Marius in the Manchester Cast, i think if i remember correctly)

Looking forward to my hour workshop with him next week.:)

    hope that helps!

I managed to wangle an hour workshop one-to-one with him...simply amazing singer!

    hope that helps!

  • Pete Saul for me guys but Colm is the best Jean Valjean ever!!!

  • For me the best ones are Drew Sarich and Simon Bowman!!!

  • peter karrie is better at valjean than the phantom i think

  • I'm amazed at my choice, but my favorite here is Peter Karrie.

Since it's almost impossible for me to decide between Colm & JOJ, I'll choose the first half of Colm and the second half of JOJ.

    And then Jeff Leyton.

Drew Sarich seems to be an acquired taste - either you like him or you don't - I don't (here come the thumbs-downs LOL)

I know I'm repeating myself, but thanks for your hard work in putting these comparisons together.

  • Peter Karrie is in my opinion brilliant, but you either love or hate him.

  • very very good how do you get th audio's for these video's?

  • I have my contacts

  • oh ok thanks

  • If you want any I can give you a few.
