Haunted Swing Blackpool Pleasure Beach

The swing you sit on can move but will only swing either way up to 15 degrees. Whereas the outer room (drum) spins 360 degrees for the illusion. Some parks make the swing move where others don't use it at all. Hex I think is the biggest in the world and has a lot of thought put into it via the story, lights and musical effects.

I remember going on this ride when I was about 6, I was sat down thinking 'oh no, I'm scared, I'm gonna go upside-down' when it was really just the Walls that moved..

I forgot about this ride and then i remembered about it and was like 'what ride was it??' and then I remembered the name;D

Went on this few years ago, the guy that ran it was a right crank, told us all to put seatbelts on. There were only a few tatty strands, and he got right snotty and said .. Whats this scotch mist, felt like wrapping it round his bloody neck.

I went on a ride like this at alton towers and this teenage guy wanted to sit with his friends, so, he didn't realise that the bench was gonna be a ride (it was part of a haunted house thing) and he sat on the arm part. Then, when the bars came down it came down awkwardly on him and crushed his nuts lol He was screaming before the ride even began

I was on this once and there was this guy with his kids, he had 3 or 4 I think, and he was telling them it really wouldn't be scary. He sits down opposite me, and as the ride starts, his kids realise its obviously just the room spinning, and aren't scared, but their dad was sh!tting himself, and he was shouting to the operator "STOP THE RIDE! MATE, PLEASE STOP THE RIDE", and he was mega dizzy. When we got off, he was sitting on the fence outside for about 30 mins!

when i went on this ride it went upsidedown i was 7 months pregnant and i thaught i was going to have my baby then and there lol . IU went back on i a few months ago and its a load of rubbish it just swings form side to side. :-(

The ride at Blackpool pleasure beach has never gone upside down - I have been on it, but researched it to be sure. The room moves, that is all. It's an amazing illusion. The whole ride itself, from the mirrors to this part, is an illusion based ride. This is also.

its an ok ride. just clever how its done. what is the point of the seat belt as soon as the ride op has left the room my seatbelt comes off, there is just no need for it. your not going to fall out, its just the swing moves slightly.

Id choose hex over haunted swing, cos your not cramped and got more room to breath, unlike the blackpool one were its just cramped and gets very sweaty.

You both move although you only move moderately from side to side, it is actually the room which spins.

@john4bears No; the swing doesn't move AT ALL. Only the room moves. Some operators work it better than others by swinging the room from side to side and gradually increasing the movement until the room rotates entirely. Others rotate the room right away thus ruining the effect. Doing it properly depends on how busy they are. It takes a bit longer to operate correctly and get the maximum effect.

The seat does a BIT so you feel it move and then it's just the room that moves. But it feels weird!

I remember going on with my aunty Karen when I was about 10 and they do swing the large carriage you sit in and then the room starts moving round - I remember clinging onto my aunty, lol
