  • is this like the cva optima?

  • I have this gun with a red dot, I use 100grain s of triple seven and a 300grain tc bullet, accurate as ever and it puts a smacking on em

  • Squirrelhunter87...the wolf is the youth model

  • hey were did you get gun and how many grains of powder can you use

  • one thing i have found is tripple 7 powder tends to gunk the shit out of the breash plug after 3 shots, you want a better cleaner powder if its sold in your area get a bottle of the jim shockeys gold, its made only for .50 cal BP

  • How much did you pay for it? Wal Mart has one and its lookin really good to me. I think its actually under 170. Is it worth it?

  • i got the same one but mine has a scope

  • I use 100 grain w/ .3 , shoots farther and straighter. Does 150 w/ hornady kick much?

  • @raguspag55 in all honesty i can not notice the ddifferance with a regular 100 or magnum load, with a 295gr,

  • i have the CVA Optima. can you tell me the differnce between the two? they look exsacly the same. nice vid by the way

  • if u dont mind me asking were did get it at what price

  • Hornady SST 250gr. bullets are the bomb in this gun. I recommend to anyone to use TC products to clean the barrel and follow up with Bore Butter to protect the barrel from rust.

  • Can you tel me what the metal bar and small bar that came with this gun are for? I just bought this gun last night and upon opening the box i noticed a metal bar with like a hexagonal end to it and a smaller bar that fits through it. Also, did you gun come with cleaning brushes or bullets? thanks.

  • I think you are talking about the spur. It can screw into the hammer or lever to make it easyer to cock or open the gun by giving a larger area for your finger. If you have more questions about the gun feel free to ask!

  • @awsomewengo15 i have to same one with the scope i love it, it has little to no kick very reliable but mine has a scope and its very accurate

  • The small bar goes into the hole at the end of the hexagonal tube. Use it as leverage as you place the hexagonal end onto the breach plug (break open the barrel (:38)). This will allow you to clean the barrel as well as soak the plug!

Word to the wise, use Bore Butter to season the barrel and you will begin to notice the barrel not fouling up as much between shots. Hope this helps.

  • @djwhips that is your breech plug wrench, to take the breech plug out

  • @djwhips hey it is for taking the plug out that holds your primer. the little bar is just for torque incase yourgun gets locked up thats all.

  • @djwhips those tools are to remove the breech plug "were you put the primer" you can take theat out and it makes cleaning the barrel super easy. and dont over tighten it when you put it back on

  • @djwhips It also is used to allow you to cock the hammer easily with a scope mounted.

  • @djwhips at like 54 seconds that part unscrew and pulls out and one of the bars go it there and the other bar goes in the other end

  • @djwhips thats for taking out your breach plug (the place you put your primer into) you have to screw these out with that wrench to clean the barrel. make sure you keep those things clean.

  • the powerbelts are actually pretty good bullets, just not in this particular gun. i believe thats due to the shorter barrel of this gun.

  • i have the same gun and ive found that those 350s grain hornady bxts or w/e is the only bullet that these guns will group well with, and man do they hit hard. but i ALWAYS use 3 pellets, 150 grains. never 100 on a bullet that big.

  • I think power belt bullets are pretty much crap.

  • @erichoward15 yeah they drop and 3 doesn't hve much of a kick.

  • Hey hows the recoil compared to a 12 gauge shotgun?

  • Its more of a push than a kick so not bad.

  • Do u pour the powder or use capsules?

  • i use pellets but am going to try loose powder soon.

  • im thinking about buying how bads the recolil?

  • Not bad the powder burns really slow.

  • hi good video i use a cva to a 50cal otma 29in barrel i use 150 gr and 180 gr i bot a 180 gr 45 cal hollow point mold i make my own it a hole lot cheaper a shot mine a lot i can kill deer at 250 yds

  • Good shooting!

  • you need to learn to measure if you think you can hit anything at 250 yds with a muzzle loader

  • you need to get a rilfe that can do it and a big scope like a have so you can easy see them out their thats how we do it hear. with the loads we use thier shooting 2300 fps wooooooooow just like a 30-30

  • I have seen a custom made muzzle loader that would shoot 5oo yards ""But"" It was in the mid 30 cal range and it was always loaded with conventional reloading powder. As for your claim for 250 yards @2300fps with a store bought over the counter gun.Better keep telling that one to people who dont shoot enough to call you on your bullshit story

  • well you need to watch tv more and it does happen and the deer die lol lol lol

  • go to long rang muzzle loading shooting hear on youtube their are guys that are shooting at 400yrds with only 100grs of powder.

  • this will be my last post on the subject... if the 100 gr is conventional powder and the gun is 30 cal yes However no 50 cal with 100 grains of pryro or black powder or black powder substitute will shoot even close to this distance.Dont bother me any more with your foolishness .....

  • your the fucking ass that started bothing me you fuck just watch the man with his muzzle loader shooting at 400yds with 100grs . i know with a 150grs and a 180gr bullet shoting at 2300fps they will shot and kill deer at 250yds you fucking ass

  • good video. very informative. thanks.
