  • this song fucking kills me and it's so beautiful

  • they sound so different but still so good love this song

  • who sings cars and telephones? because it's not win's voice, for sure.

  • Bawling my eyes out.

  • @ciocrasfola <3

  • I'm tearing up

  • And yes you're in my head

But that doesn't make you here :(

  • Not gonna go into an all caps rage over a comment made two years ago but... The Flaming Lips are still pretty spiffy.

  • Never delete this song. and by the way love the name new moon same sun. this is the only cars and telephones on youtube my man or girl lol

  • Awsome Short Clip

  • So, it may be a bit of a 'derrr' moment, but upon listening to it again it click as to what it's about. Somebody he loves has moved away, and they talk on the phone, but it's not the same, he wants to see her in person.

I'm experiencing a bit of this at the moment. This song comforts me somewhat. Such a great song.

  • really....seriously....how amazing is this song..'your voice in my head makes me feel so alone'

  • Would anybody like it if I tried making a music video on this or would that ruin the song?

  • @TheeOptimusRhyme give it a try

  • Ridiculously good

  • Does anybody have any idea where we can get this? Or am I gonna have to find win butlers house, break into it, and steal it?

  • favorite song of theirs. I love it. It used to be so hard to find until they got famous, thanks for posting this.

  • I really wish they did more songs like this. Don't get me wrong, I really like the band (Funeral is my favourite album of all time) but it's upsetting that they don't do any love ballads anymore. Neon Bible and Suburbs all have songs that deal with love, but none of them are totally focused on it or half as elegiac anymore. I just want another Crown of Love...

  • @affjigabiggle I Agree!!!

  • @affjigabiggle I half agree. I think too many songs these days are about love, and arcade fire has the balance perfectly right. It depends what you consider a "love ballad", I suppose. Is tunnels a love ballad? I'd say no, but some interpret it that way. This song is great though. Where did it first appear on? Some obscure demo tape or something? Is this even win singing?

  • @corncornrocks I think post-Funeral a lot of the emotion that their earlier songs have has been lost. While Neon Bible and The Suburbs are still very good albums, they feel much more detached than Funeral. The title track of the Suburbs is one of my favourite non-Funeral tracks because Win sounds so honest and affected in it. Anyway, it is Win singing and I'm not exactly sure where it was found, but it appears on a Rarities/b-sides collection that is on the internet. It's full of great stuff!

  • this is probably my favorite AF song still.

  • Honestly gonna say: AdamHanney brought me here :)

  • this is win singing haha?

  • Such a deep and beautiful story and the whole song fits perfectly to the lyrics. Massive respect to Arcade Fire, lets hear more of this

  • Wow, this is a really beautiful song. They sound like a different band. I haven't heard any of their stuff pre-Funeral and obviously I'm going to have to rectify that.

  • i genuinely think this is their best song.

  • I love how you can't really compare any AF album to each other. They're so ridiculously different that you almost have to take them completely by themselves.

Their EP, 2001 Demo, Funeral, the B-sides, and The Suburbs are just so superb, but superbly different, that I can't really compare them.

However, Neon Bible was pretty bad, save for about three songs.

  • @Carnane Neon Bible is great! You're crazy!

  • This sounds nothing like then vocally

  • The Suburbs lacked this sort of mysteriousness and emotion I think. It was a great album, but missed certain qualities...

  • is that win singing lead?

  • @accioboooks killing is not nice.

  • This is such an amazing video, the scene transitions. The accuracy, how everything is so ... Still. You should make a major motion picture (would it be "motion"?) in this style, I would take my uncle chip to go see that. Yessiree I would, he would be real mad.

  • one of my favorites

  • ♡ this

  • The ending is going to haunt me forever.

  • at the very end of this song, you can hear the faint strains of the pure potential of greatness that arcade fire had at the time that this song was 'released'. i think it's absolutely amazing.

  • This song, I would listen to when I was 14 at my cottage, and oh my god the memories it resonates when I listen to it now, trying to finish studying for an exam in university. Thank you Arcade Fire, for being able to take me back to those carefree days of childhood where you're on the verge of personal innocence and corruption. Oh what an amazing song and band.

  • I feel like these lyrics fit my life so well that it is almost worrying, but at least that means I'm not alone right?

  • i feel the same way... let's hug.

  • "Fuck i'll love you even if i'm going to feel like shit." Words I've said before to that girl we've all met before.

  • I walked to get the mail today, I guess your letter never came. I'll just check again tomorrow.

  • beutiful tune!!!

  • And I've lost all my friends

But you're the one I miss the most

  • And yes you're in my head

But that doesn't make you here

  • But f it I love you even if

    I'm gonna feel like shit

  • Does anyone know where I can find this song? Or if I could even find it . . . ?

  • I like jets more than internets...

Great tune...haven't heard it in a few years...One of my favourites...this and Black Wave, Bad Vibrations...Neighbourhood # 1 (Tunnels) along with the Talking Heads cover of This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)

    ah, shit...it's all great...

    kudos for posting...

  • not bad.

  • This is a fantastic song, mainly due to its simplicity and honesty in the lyrics

  • i know its pretty amazing, i dont think the flaming lips can write anything this good. That guy wayne is fucking idiot. sorry if there are any FL fans on this page.

  • why would you randomly bring the flaming lips into this?

i dont really listen to them so im not offended, but why did you bring them up?

  • no reason, just offended how he talked about the AF, i didnt know i couldnt bring that subject. pssh.

  • @ZoomZip Wayne Coyne 'tore AF a new a-hole' in some interview and called them terrible people because supposedly the band treats people like shit.

  • who cares, doesnt mean their music sounds any different, they're a band, not i charitable non-profit organization

  • @robcuda67 just for the record, I agree with you.

    Coyne is a tool.

  • @newmoonsamesun Yeah, beware of the self appointed youtube police.

  • @newmoonsamesun well. no need to bash the flaming lips, they've written some amazing stuff over the years. both bands can be great. i personally like arcade fire a bit more, but the flaming lips are definitely better than many, many bands. it was very lame of wayne to bash arcade fire like he did, but they're still very good musicians

  • @newmoonsamesun oh that thing Wayne said about arcade fire was absolutely unacceptable! flaming lips aren't even close to how amazing arcade fire is!

  • Is this the only arcade fire with the word, 'fuck'?

    Completely insignificant but whatever.

    What ab beautiful song...

  • Absolutely one of my favorite songs! I probably listened to this song like over 10 times in a row!

  • so this song is pretty much what made me love arcade fire and become my favorite band ever

but after a while i was like...this sounds different than all the other one's...

so i was scared that my favorite song by arcade fire might have not been by them

but now now I know it is :)

    thought i'd share lol

    i love this song!!

  • this is one of those songs that I listen to several times in a row.. on my 13th listen now

  • this and Cold Wind, are exceptionally great early songs..man, can this band get any better???

  • you should hear the early stuff before funeral, its really damn good. thanks for your comments, i'll upload early stuff soon.

  • awesome stuff.. thank you

  • Perfect.

  • I nearly die everytime i hear this song...in a good way.

  • this song is fucking cool!

  • not on any album, you can download it though.

  • hmm wonder why... yeah it is a good song. thanks so much for uploading!

  • Yeah and thaty lyrics, it's just perfect!

  • my favorite song.

  • great song
