  • I tried to put my cat on standby but it accidentally rebooted him to safe mode. How do I fix this?

  • I am going to school to be a veterinary technician. I am not trying to start anything but one of the first things we were taught was to never let a patient jump from a table cat or not because it can cause injury. I would much rather scruff the cat myself than use this...or a cat bag.

  • What is that a vulcan nerve pich, this technique seems illogical and cruel.

  • Kitty has encountered a problem (officer) and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

  • i realize it's a real and humane technique, but using the binder clip looks painful, those things have too much pressure

  • @sarreq It's a 1" capacity binder clip. A vet school at a university did a study found its the same amount of pressure a human experiences with a blood pressure cuff. So it's safe as long as you don't leave the clip on for hours at a time.

  • AWGHEGHEGH OMG ANIMAL ABUSE. No, stfu... idiots.

  • its call scruffing the cat, they react on instinct as they would as kittens when their mothers carried them by the skin on their neck for safety. they go limp so its easier for the mother to carry them without having to break skin with her teeth. which is cruel? cats teeth or a binder clip? dont be stupid

  • What the hell did he do to that cat!!!!

  • 9GAG ARMY IS HERE!!!!!!!

  • no matter what i search, i ALWAYS end up watching a fucking cat video

  • @Marter713 glad im not the only one

  • @xXSarge223Xx A cat is fine too

  • I remember I discovered this with a kitten, they kitten was playing around and biting stuff, when I carried it by holding the scruff of its neck, it stayed completely still.

  • We have those same clamps at work.. I put one on my ear once.. OUCH!!! I also put one on my arm, no pain.. Calm down people..

  • vulcan trick..

animal rights guys, you really dont know anything.. usually.

  • lol.

  • 0:24 - 0:28 CAT: fuck this shit im out of here -___-

  • Does this work on girls? :D

  • @jas0n4eva Suure does!

  • Comment removed

  • No, you are the moron. I am a PT student and we've studied the anatomy of cats. The spinal cord of the cats and any other mammals is protected by the vertebrae. The spines are bones and cannot be compressed just by that. If the the vertebrae are crushed, then, that would cause severe pain and paralyze the cat. And removing the plier, won't make the cat move again, because a compressed cord is permanent damage and fatal. SO yes, it's just the skin.

  • @chocofear25 ah a student. talk to me again when youve got your degree.

  • @BIEBERBRO420 So just because I'm still a student means that I don't know anything? Sorry but seriously, cats have spines aka vertebrae that encloses the spinal cord. Under the skin of the neck are muscles that further protect the vertebrae. I think you're the one who needs to check up on your anatomy.

  • @chocofear25 Win. I know the same just from having cats, and working in an animal shelter. The safe way to carry a cat is to hold it like a football to your side, and then hold the scruff with your other hand.

  • @chocofear25 Plus the fact that the clip they use is for holding sheets of paper together. I put them on my fingers at the office all the time (as you can probably guess, I don't get a lot of work done). It doesn't hurt at all.

  • @chocofear25 this is exploiting a part of cats psychological programming right? clip the scruff and it triggers the instinct they rely on when they're kittens, when mum would pick them up and carry them around, correct?

  • Comment removed

  • @BIBERBRO420 Yes because the skin on a cats neck = spinal cord. You're a fucking moron seriously.

  • I got here from watching Like a Bus... lol...

  • HAHAHAAA I don't understand those who think that this is animal torture! Why you don't say anything when doctors tie straps on arms, head, feet on injured person? Because you know that this is not torture to people! It is only to protect injured persons and to facilitate the work of doctors... I'm sick of you...

  • @BIEBERBRO420

Whatever.. I don't want argue... Just want to tell you that I'm not any "torture-apologist"..

I didn't call you with any "names" so please, don't do that to me. your comments say a lot about your intelligence. Insulting people based on prejudice is not a profession for smart people.

  • @rubenpetran no need to get so defensive about me calling you out on your support of animal torture

  • @BIEBERBRO420 Chill the fuck out! You obviously don't know anything about cats.

  • I saw this on tumblr

  • @nettaviolet dont talk about tumblr outside of tumblr

  • Cats sure can be interesting.

  • @BIEBERBRO420 you are fucked up in the brain to think this animal turtore, there is no pain expressed by the cat or disconfort, nor the cat was mistreated in any way GTFO

  • @BIEBERBRO420 Lol.. you humanize cats probably. How do you think the mother cat pick ups her kittens? Exactly the same way. And you really need to learn smth about spinal cords...

  • Mind = Blown

  • i use to that .. but i just hold it not using anything.. they think der mummy is carrying them ... catssss so cute :)

  • deactivate as in stun the cat?

  • LOL @BIEBERBRO420 just got told!!!

  • Inside the cat's mind

Cat: Hay, what're you guys doing with that plier? It looks like you're gonna clip it somewh-

    *clip*

    *unclip*

Cat: What the hell just happened

  • Hahaha

  • I'm loving the description: 'A veterinarian put standby a cat with a plier.'

  • If this doesn't hurt a cat, then they should sell them in colors to blend in with cats' fur

  • Holy biscuits. The cat isn't hurt. Haven't you people ever seen a cat in pain?

  • When I found this out, I did this to my cat, left it on the floor, and showed my mom. She thought the cat died! Im grounded now....

  • Comment removed

  • Error. Cat.exe is not responding. Program will exit.

  • If you excuse me i have to now go fuck my cat

  • @12pancakes12 Nope. The scruff of a cats neck is used to carry it around when it's younger. If the cat was in any discomfort, it would certainly express it somehow.

  • @JustUrby Unless it was unable to perhaps.

  • @12pancakes12 If you've experienced having a cat, you'd know what it acts like when it IS hurt, it would react (violently), really.

  • @12pancakes12

dogs have it too at a young age, it doesn't hurt them

  • That was fucking grate lol

  • @marbles112 great*

  • @kristiicullenblack LOL calm down...the cat wasn't harmed CLEARLY...go spend that worked up energy on something more productive for yourself than youtube

  • @kristiicullenblack LOL idiot you cant just become a vet your obviously trained therefore he knows what he is doing making your entire arguement invalid, anyways doesnt matter got lulz

  • @kristiicullenblack

    Lol, learn to spell please.

  • Comment removed

  • they do this because when they are kittens, their mothers usually pick 'em up from there, and they are taught to stay still

  • @coldrock11 Thank you captain obvious.

  • Glorious, now I have a way to make my cat hold still long enough to get her in the carrier.

  • i think is better what i can offer to my friend ))

  • This doesn't work so well on my cat. He reacts a little but not like the cat in this video. He still moves around but he moves like a geriatric cat, very slowly.

  • @jones81381 It depends on some cats. Some of them were separated earlier from their mothers so it's not so strong on some of them. At least that is what i've heard

  • @siegvash That makes sense. I don't know my cat's personal history. We got him when he was about 6 to 8 months old. He is a rescue cat we found on craigslist. The woman who put him up for adoption said she had found him at a gas station covered in kerosene. She cleaned him up and listed on craigslist a couple days later. That's all we know about his history. We've had him about a year now.

  • @jones81381 My cat was separated from her mom at about 3 or 4 months old so she still struggles a little, so I guess it's partially right (I can say totally because i have no proof). Cheers for your cat, take good of care of him.

  • It works on me O_O

  • It's instinctual from when the cat's mother carried it around by the scruff of its neck.

  • ALMOST AS COOL AS JAR CAT

  • lol i thought it said how to decapitate a cat

  • Guy's, It does not hurt the cat. They are putting a clip on loose area of its skin that it's mother could use to carry it when it was younger ( generally just in the wild. I forget what it is called.)

  • @CrazyCats64 you are a retardpolastercu

  • @CrazyCats64 Nope. The mother carries the kittens like that when they're younger. It's has a physical response that kinda freezes their body. Also a good way to train your cat, lets them know they did something bad.

  • Hahahaha wtf

  • sick xD HAHHAA

  • hmm

  • @BIEBERBRO420 *you're and it's not

  • that looks like it hurts

  • @Robstailey it doesnt, cats have more sking in their neck because their moms grabs them from there whyle they are babies, is still there when they are bigger

  • It works on worms too. They stop moving instantly.

  • People actually responding to an account called Beiberbro420? That's actually kind of funny. Kids get trolled so hard these days.

  • did it died

  • now i klicked on the youtube logo after watching a vid and this came in my recomended bar... i LMFAO xD

  • i already knew this trick -.-''

    noobs don't....

  • your pinching its spinal cord asshole.

  • @BIEBERBRO420 are. you. retarded? that's just the loose skin it mother would have used to carry it

  • @BIEBERBRO420 No, he isn't, all that is doing is pinching skin, no vital organs or anything. The cat is fine, alive healthy, not being harmed in any way, a little soreness on the skin maybe but that's it. The cat is fine, and not being harmed in any way. Other cats will bite that scruff to show a sign of dominance over other cats, and mother cats will pick up their kittens like that.

  • @BIEBERBRO420 Hahahahaha you just completely made that up. If that was the case then the nerves in the spinal cord wouldn't be situated within the spine and would therefore be very easily severed by a simple collision from the outside. They freeze up as an instinct since that's how they're carried by their mothers as kittens, and it just makes it easier for the mother to move them if they're still, especially if she's in the wild, in a hypothetical situation where the kittens life counts on it.

  • @BIEBERBRO420 If the cat were to be 'paralyzed' in the fashion you described it would never be able to move form that point downwards again since the nerves would be irreversibly damaged. I could go into pages more detail but I won't, you wouldn't understand it. Why do you seem to think you know more about cats than anyone else, with clearly no qualifications? You can't spell muscles, and you called a vetirinarian a 'cat doctor'. Right.

  • @Incubus941 you obviously dont know much about cats and thought it would be cute to start a arguement. get back to me when youve got a medical degree like me and then we can talk.

  • @BIEBERBRO420 You clearly don't have a medical degree you twat. Assuming the average medical degree takes 6 years you should be a minimum of 25. With such high qualifications and a mature mindset, why is your name "BIEBERBRO420", you love Justin Bieber and getting high? Plus I know what your saying is wrong, no mammal has their spinal cord placed outside of their spine. That would just be completely retarded.

  • @BIEBERBRO420 Ok I'll settle this thing, at the top of the spine cats have a gland called the encephalon which releases endorphins when it is pinched. Endorphins btw (assuming you don't have a medical degree) make an animal happy and content. When these endorphins are released they have specific receptors on the recieving synapses which react an instinct in the cat to stay still and pull up its feet, for making it easier for the mother to carry it, as the feet won't drag on the ground.

  • @Incubus941 let me try to break this down for you in terms you might understand. ever used a hose? ok, what happens when you pinch the hose? the water stop coming out because it cant push past through. its the same for the spinal cord, when you pinch it, the nerves cant flow through to the rest of the body and the cat is paralyzed. not sure how your not getting this...

  • @BIEBERBRO420 Dude, I just explained it using science, you just explained it back using an analogy. I'm not sure how you're not getting that you're wrong. You're acting like some one from the 11th century, as if simple logic bests science. I'm sure this is the sort of argument they were having when they thought the Earth was flat - "Upon observation we've discovered the Earth is a sphere." "That's ridiculuous. Let me make this simple for you, why can you see the ground in front on your feet?"

  • @BIEBERBRO420

    2/10

  • @BIEBERBRO420 someone need to deactivate you!!

  • @BIEBERBRO420 You got a medical degree? Calling a veterinarian "cat doctor" and claiming that pinching the skin of the neck is somehow pinching the spinal cord doesn't really support that claim...

  • @BIEBERBRO420 This is actually probably the most idiotic comment I've ever seen on youtube. Bravo.

  • @BIEBERBRO420 I find it difficult to believe that a medical student can't spell MUSCLES, much less get the difference between "you're" and "your".

  • @BIEBERBRO420 HAHA you fucking idiot!!!

  • @BIEBERBRO420 SO BRAVE

  • @BIEBERBRO420

    Ignorance.

  • @BIEBERBRO420 you are wrong and uneducated my friend

  • ohmygosh! that is amazing.. :D

  • I've had this tried on my left testicle and it does the same thing.

  • @thirdflooruk why not the right one?

  • @thirdflooruk how about the right one? xD

  • It is a natural response, they do it as kittens because their mothers grab them by the neck to move them where see wants

  • That is amazing...I've been wondering how to control my cat, she needs a trip to the vet and she's very skittish...Thanks Julien

  • holy shit

  • cat.exe has stopped working. Windows is looking for a solution to the problem.

  • @Ubersquirl hahahaha!

  • HOW DO I REACTIVATE HOW ?????

Kittys not been the same since the day i deactivated her

  • when there mothers grab thhem by the neck like that it is there instinct to be still to let the mother pick them up wich is why the cat goes still when she puts the clip on its neck

  • @JJJJ665 I always thought that it sends the cat into a state of calm, but your theory works too.

  • Cat Alt Delete!

  • ctrl alt delete! - ctrl alt delete! - ctrl alt-ahh there we go.

  • That's a big cat

  • cat.exe is not responding.

  • Comment removed

  • Sweetiee..........

  • asii?? no sabiaa xd

  • @jamsterjr Ever try putting one of those things on the back of a woman's neck?

  • "Haha where's my food. Ugh this is so boring I'mma- o.o"

  • Works the same if you grab their "scruff" ( skin on top of neck ) with your hand

  • what are they? robots?

  • ha i tried to do this on my cat and the fucker scratched and bit me

  • now....is there a way to do this with dogs?
