u see me fridge? gilbert give me,u see me colur TV, gilbert give me
yea. i was only 4 but i do remember zinc flying and trees dancing lol. After the hurricane, we jumped in the nasty water and played lol. that was then.
In Nicaragua this was a big hit in the late 80's every one used to play it, sing it and dance it
it's a funny catchy song with a excellent rhythm
all the radio stations and club you heard or went to that song was playing, brings me very good memories of my youth and mi tierra linda y bella Nicaragua. Representing VILLA REVOLUCION (AMERICAS #3)
1988 - I was in Jamaica for Hurricane Gilbert and this record came out a couple of days afterwards. It sums up every thing that I experienced; sweeping out water with the broom out the house, eating nothing but corned beef (bully beef), satelite dishes flying everywhere, people getting new fridges, colour TVs, etc, (looted items for very cheap!), roofs coming off (especially churches), being in the dark and not having a generator to power the house and water getting everywhere., LOL. Thanks
@ShadowW4lk3r - Hi there. I was about 26 at that time. For all the experience it was quite a positive one. I saw Jamaicans in another light but it helps when the blazing sun comes back out 3 days later and dries up all the water. In the UK where I now live when they are flooded there is no such thing and it's damp months later. Also it helped with Jamaica's comic attitude such as Wild Gilbrt. xx
sh*t this is good!
