Excellent review! I feel the same way about Godfather 2. It started to feel like a chore to play through it towards the end, because of all the repetition. The graphics are so bland too.

74 is a C meaning "Average." 72 would be a high C-.

And your complaints are ridiculous and car review worthy. The "bugs and glitches" you mention don't ever effect the game. It's like complaining that the anti aliasing was poor: it doesn't affect you. Graphics shouldn't matter when you play a game that's fun.

I liked the game because of the combat, tone, and feel the game had. Who cares about graphics? Gears of War 1 had "good graphics" but they're considered "Bland" now. It's pointless.

the glitches did affect the game for me because they would often piss me off when say i had to move a car after watching my squad mate run in circles all because he wasn't smart enough to run around the car. also, the graphics didn't bother me as much as the repetitive gameplay and the linear ways in which you took over businesses. i didn't have fun with the game and the graphics and glitches merely made it worse.

I feel like people who like the GTA series can enjoy these games. Think about all the terrible glitches in GTA that we all endure because the overall experience is fun. I felt the same thing here. People running around to get into cars, alright that's two seconds of annoyance.

When I think of bugs and glitches I think of TFU "You can't finish the game because of this" or Bully crashing all the time

I can understand the linear complaint, but the review seemed to focus on the looks, not the play

-horrible a.i., bland graphics, repetitive missions, overly linear, weak storyline, don view is implemented poorly, annoying glitches- those are my main complaints, all of which i mentioned. i've played better games in this genre, and i can't overlook any of these flaws because there aren't any qualities that i appreciated or enjoyed in this game. godfather 2 has no redeeming aspects to compensate for its abundant faults.

ok so i reread through my script and watched my review yet again to make sure i didn't overly focus on the glitches and graphics, and it seems to me like you either muted your speakers, have selective hearing, or simply didn't pay attention during the vast other areas where i mention the gunplay, melee combat, don view, repetition etc... i could give you the exact amount of time i give on each subject, but upon rewatching this, i know i did not focus solely on graphics and glitches.

Graphics don't affect the game much, but to the extreme they do. If they're awful graphics you won't have much fun, if they're amazing then you'll have more fun, due to the immersion qualities. PLUS, he's a reviewer! And graphics are part of a game, so knock it on the head.

And baron: I review games too. Not to mention, all you need to be a reviewer is to say an opinion and put a score at the end. There's no set guidelines for what you have to grade and think about.

People are supposed to figure out what your opinions are based off of a few reviews, and if they generally agree with your style, they'll read/watch. If not, they won't. I personally disagree with how he approaches reviewing.

ive been disappointed twice recently. first was dark athena and now godfather 2...blah. im picking up saints row 2 here in a day or two...it was all i could think about while playing this game

Yeah Dark Athena was another one. It was not very good I did not enjoy it. In the fact that the game had nothing new to offer and the graphics were not very good. I enjoyed Saint's Row 2 it was very good. Hopefully you feel the same.

dark athena simply didn't have the atmosphere butcher bay had nor the great pacing, but i loved the first saints row and the second looks as good, if not better than the original, so im excited for it. may take me a while to review it though, but it will be out sooner than later.

clearly, the critics and gamers alike would agree with me on this subject matter given the fact that the godfather 2 carries a 7.4 critic and gamer average review rating, which is roughly the same as a C minus, if maybe very slightly higher.

damn i wasn't first this time around lol. i agree though, good review. there's a massive dry spell of games between now and mid to late may so i may give this a rental, but i will be sure to keep my expectations low.
