Same with me, I use the basic rough sketch like u use. Basically I love manga style n I draw manga style since I was kid, but I like n learn to basic realistic anatomy, that's why my artwork semi-realistic manga style~ ;D

looking back at this, it's not too bad. I was drawing via my Cintiq... and it didn't turn out too bad, honestly. I'm not too used to this method of drawing eyes, but it's a rather accurate method for this particular angle. now, my problem seems to be with the shape of the face itself...

When you separated the eye part into five spots, then started drawing the face at an angle, you lost me. Wouldn't you have to divide it in uneven parts in that case, or should you always do it in even parts regardless? What about a profile?

@quickcomedy1 For anyone who is getting discouraged trying to draw in this fashion but still really wish to learn I highly suggest getting a Wacom pen tablet (or borrow one) and practice using them in paint (or Photoshop if you got it) its so much less disheartening when you can undo simple mistakes without a easer smudge and even cheat with circles until you are used to it. I did then then went back to paper helped me alot.
