Yes, Galway is very big on low notes. I think it helps to blow down into the mouthpiece to get 'em to sound, also to add vibrato to bring out the volume.

Beautiful , Danny boy or Londonderry air is most closely associated with Irish communities, however it was written by an English man Frederic Weatherly. It is an a unofficial anthem for irish americans and Irish Canadians, and therefor people associate the song as being an Irish ballad.

I love his flute. The low notes are so clear! When I tried that on my old Gemeinhardt (which I no longer have), it did not come out as clear. The Yamaha I rented was a little better, but not much.
