  • If Orson Welles could parody an invasion from Mars..and actually have fun fooling a great majority of the public who really believed Martians had landed..he would certainly enjoy this director's parody of this scene from Citizen Kane..so funny...it is a favorite save of mine!

  • "oh you're a big movi star aren't ya..."

Orson really cut his hand badly when he hit that mirror.

  • obviously he has no idea that Orsen Welles directed this movie himself.. wrote it.. starred in it..

and this guy also has no appreciation for how powerful this scene actually is in the movie.

  • Painfully bad.

  • this is BS it isnt a lost take its just some dumbass talking

  • Arse-son? sounds like a putdown.

  • best scene ever

  • lol

  • Boring

  • "Orson take the little ball..it's gonna caalm you" I'm still laughing!

  • Funeeeee! LOL...

  • who the fuck is arsen?

cute video you have. too bad i saw the film. didnt lol much

  • This is crap. Hilarious voice-overs are about as interesting as dogturds.

  • Ahahaha, We'll see You tommorrow Orson, & We'll try It again. But if You screw up one more time We will need to

    sedate You with Ritalin.

  • Orson is laughing his ass off in Heaven!

  • this is great, but do you want to hear a real joke?

Fifteen years of cultural decline in American; audiences that will clap at anything, witless humor and jokes as -

    "it's the economy, Stuuuuuuuupid!"

yes, my friends, the nation of welles, hitchock, chaplin, grouch marx et al

    is now a shit heap

  • Frickin' great

  • I think that Citizen Kane is an absolute masterpiece, but I still found this video kinda funny. Good job.

  • @Kubasik Are you irish by any chance?

  • i laughed so hard

  • What happened to people sense of humour. Whats the point going through life getting angry every time someone tries to have a laugh, you cant take everything seriously, otherwise you might as well sit in a box for years on end. I thought this was funny.

  • I see where you are coming from but I think you are making a mistake in suggesting that my concern is from the standpoint of cinematic snobbery. America's stock has been pretty low in recent times and it ill behoves any of its citiizens to poke fun at its most monumental cinematic achievement. I don't consider myself an expert on cinema but I am pretty certain that Citizen Kane is the greatest film ever made; having had more tham a passing interest in the medium for many years.

  • Lmbo

  • So apparently "true" film buffs do not have a sense of humor.

My infantile mind enjoyed it, though.

  • Here Here! It certainly is not clever. It defecates on Welles' incredible cinematic achievement. Obviously the makers of this video know nothing about cinema or have any respect for the form. This piece of faeces is obviously a direct attack on my tastes and is in no way inventive or amusing. I love Citizen Kane for it's rich narrative and daring techniques. How dare anyone continue their own voyage of exploration and experimentation by lovingly altering the context of this incredible scene....

  • Uh oh, Martin. I don't think Orson is the only one who needs to calm himself with a snow globe. I bet it'd do more to improve your mood than persuing back issues of Cahiers du cinéma looking for the centerfolds.

  • @MartinPadderborn beyond parody you say so none of the simpsons episodes, or ed wood or the animaniacs count? jesus christ you are the one who should get real.

  • @MartinPadderborn If it's on the internet, it's never beyond parody.

  • @ jmcooper226

  • lol yeah what a frikkin dope...this is reli funny lol XD

  • hahaha jmcooper226....what a dope....

  • I almost died laughing. Like every other film buff, I fucking LOVE this movie. This funny tribute really makes me feel like someone else feels the same way.

  • Ha, very clever.

  • That was great! hahaha

  • You have got to be kidding !I don't' believe for a minute the director is really saying all of that. I think it was added afterward just to show it as a "lost take." This was the written sequence of Kane's reaction to his wife's leaving him!

  • if youre serious right now you are fucking dumb as hell. or just not old enough to understand...

  • Have you nothing better to do than to be rude and insulting? Perhaps you should consider going to "charm school" or at least school,in general,so you can learn some new vocabulary words.

  • but orson diected it, too... no one would be giving him directions.. haha.

  • :D It would totally have been in character too. Someone said Kane was the person that Orson Welles wanted to be but then someone else said no, he's the person he would have been if he'd had that much money and influence.

  • That's Arsin.....Arsin around!

  • This is nothing compared to the ruckus Orson kicked up a mere 3 years later when Twentieth-Century Fox refused to release "Jane Eyre" as "Mr. Rochester".

  • Good fun. "Arson" would have loved it.

By the way, Orson cut his left hand in this scene. Watch --as the staging would suggest-- that he was to pick up the snow globe with his left hand, but before he picks up the snow globe Orson felt the blood, so he pulls his hand back and picks it up with his right.

  • christian bale ain't got shit on orson welles!

  • Funny stuff, like some others was a bit pissed off when I realised it wasn't an actual take, but nevertheless LOL :D

    "Arsen, THOSE ARE MY BOOKS!!!"

  • You guys are so bad! But I must admit is funny.

  • this is funny. cept we all know Welles directed this himself, so the bit with Orson being directed wasn't effective though. but it is pretty funny. thumbs uP!

  • Oh my goodness! This is some funny stuff! LOL! :P

  • Ah, that was hilarious. I have to admit I was a bit pissed off comin in here when I realised it wasn't ACTUALLY a lost take, lucky I didn't switch it tho, it was bloody funny

  • this was real funny ... very good iam a film student ....so this was really funny

  • This is good for accent practice, too!.

" Ehrsin, caaam dahn. Ehrsin! Ehrsin!"

  • Lol!! Love it. All in good fun. Maybe you know that he really cut himself in this scene, yet kept going. Very badly, I might add.

  • this voice over is simply stupid

    bah

  • The funniest classic cinema tribute I've seen on You Tube...a real tongue-in-cheek tribute that gets it right. And I agree with william0000000 that Welles himself would have likely got a huge kick out of it!

  • ROTFLAMO! Oh god I love this,

    Great job!

  • ROTFLMAO! Sorry I just can't stop laughing.

  • well done man, cool as...

Do more, what about the car chase in the french connection with the (nervious passenger) director in the back seat

  • Orson Welles *was* the real director of Citizen Kane!

  • hahahaha laughing my ass off.

  • I love Orson Welles but this is hilarious!

  • bethy: Is there really a contradiction between the two?

Apparently you haven't seen the wine commercial 'outtakes'. ;)

    'Muahhhh the French!' lol

  • I guess not :P Will check that out now :D

  • I have always found this seen very odd. I think it is the greatest movie ever, maybe Lawrence of Arabia, but anyway, the way he knocks over the stuff always makes me laugh out loud. It is very rigid and almost like he falling into the stuff rather than angrily destroying stuff. It's almost as if some one is controlling him, like he has a remote control controlling him. Anyway, it might seem silly way to put it. And I mean the version of the seen that is in the Film, not this version.

  • I am not so sure. I mean he has just been left by his wife, and that kind of emotional pain can really make the body rigid, tensed up in anger and desperation. I think this scene was done just spot on.

  • Though I dislike it when people do this to classic movies, I found it quite funny.

  • I'm sure Orson Welles would have found it verrrry funny. I know I have, and I love the man's films. He did have a great sense of humor.

  • "Orson! Those are my books!" Hehehehehe

  • It's most impressive since Welles directed the movie himself, so he must be talking to himself this whole time! And in a Scottish accent no less! The man was ridiculously talented ;)

  • Yes, Welles had many hidden talents. Unfortunately throwing his voice in a Scotish accent was not one of them, it's actually Irish.

  • Ah, you're right of course. Duh. Now I feel sheepish.

    Still, quite impressive ;)

  • @Kubasik He must've been practicing his "irish" accent for his role in "Lady of Shanghai" (:

  • @Kubasik ha seriously. Ever see The Lady from Shanghai ;P

  • Lol pretty funny. it made me laugh

  • That was ridiculously hilarious!

  • Funny idea and all. But unfortunately with the level of youth and intelligence here on youtube, you are probably confusing the ignorant and degrading Welles as often as you are making people laugh. What is the top clip of Welles on youtube? The only known footage of Welles being drunk. The average youtuber has never even seen a Welles film, and probably never will. And since this is one of the finest examples of his screen acting, I have to say I really couldn't enjoy this all that much.

  • This clip wasn't uploaded for those who have never even seen a Welles film. For those of us who have, it's hilarious.

You seem to be making the argument that clips that confuse the ignorant shouldn't be posted. I'm afraid I can't agree.

  • That was great. I laughed so hard; you guys did an awesome job!!!

  • I thought this was HILARIOUS. And the accent makes it even funnier! ha ha.

The only thing is... anyone who knew anything about Wells knew he also DIRECTED it lol. So he couldn't really be 'fired' or 'replaced' now could he? ha ha

    Still... WELL DONE SIR!

  • It's gonna kaaaaam you

  • What a revelation! No wonder his films always ran over budget.

The entire course of film history might have been different if only they'd had anger management classes back then.

  • "Orson those are my books!"

  • "just close the suitcase yu silly coont!"

  • i like how you say orson!

  • lol

  • being able to watch this shot came in useful in a class assignment, thanks; it was funny also.

    brilliant movie.

  • no lie, one of the funniest things ive ever watched

  • i saw this movie for my video class it was cool

  • I agree with SECZEPHYRUS but I think that makes it even funnier! This was priceless =) I think you should make more of these. Lol nice job!

  • Lol, the only thing that didn't make sense was the fact the Orson himself was the director...now if he had been saying this to himself...that could be truly amazing!

  • LOL, "Back off, leave him alone, he's OK now!"

  • LOL Orson, this will calm you down...

  • lol this is very funny, its a great film though

  • Holy hell, I had no idea anyone could make comedy from Citizen Kane. But hey, a movie that is that high up on the critic's list needs a bit of lightening up. Good job, btw, even though Citizen Kane is one of my favorite movies. ^^

  • It's gonna cam you down. Arsen? Seriously, though - well done!

  • It would've had better if the guy he was supposedly ordering around wasn't both the co-writer and director of the movie itself.

  • I think we're supposed to pretend that they're making some other movie, not Citizen Kane. Otherwise, you're right, it doesn't make sense. But the Scottish guy is clearly the director here, so I think it's supposed to be some other project.

  • ARSON ARSON! FOR FOOKS SAKE!

  • This is funny the way you fo it.

  • This is a great scene! I heard he broke his hand ripping off one of the shelves but he kept going anyway. I love Orson Welles! What a trooper! I love the voice in the back! LOL!

  • This scene was actually done in one take. I loved that he didn't smash the snowglobe.

  • auggh idiots this is what happens in the movie its just got someone talking over it

  • What are all of you gay? This is fucking shit. It's still funny though. End of story. Stop sucking Kubasik's cock.

  • This is fuckin' unbelievable! Hahahahah!

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • brilliant. better than most parody videos on this shit site.

  • what the fuck? that isn't even a good place to advertise. christ almighty. really funny video, i just hate as bots

  • Haha. Cute.

  • Haha! Funny idea. However, Orson directed the movie as well as played Charles Foster Kane, so it's unlikely, but still pretty humorous.

  • Delicious. Thanks!

  • I love this movie. However, I have an open mind (unlike some people on your comment section) and I have to tel you that was genious!. It is very, very funny. Good job man.

  • You know what...I am not going to be negative about this. I love Citizen Kane and I know you do too. I appreciate your creativity! Well done!

  • "Orson if you continue this your fired! I can replace you. If he comes in like that tomorrow than he's outta here." This fails so hard. Luckily for me I can look past these major flaws and save it to my favs.

  • Wow, I actually couldn't stop laughing through that whole thing! Its hilarious!

That accent omg! "Arson, for f***'s sake!" LMAO!

Yeah, its making a mockery of Orson Welles, but w/e, its great for a laugh! Good job! :D

  • this scene is actually in the movie

  • hahaha! this actually made me laugh! thanks for doing this. it's outrageous! :)

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA (heart attack falls on floor, 2 hours later, recovers) Holy crap that almost killed me (pauses for 1 seconds) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • great job man, but this's an outtake this is in the acctual movie, witch by the way is one of the best movies ever

  • Sounds like he's saying "arson" lol

  • now THAT was funny.

  • what a fake!!!!

  • Haha, nice.

  • I knew that this was a one shot deal in this scene with Orson. So I'm like wtf? At very first I thought it was stupid, cause it's my favorite scene from the movie. Then I realized it's giving props to a great moment in movie history. He had cut open his left hand doing the scene which is why he pulls it back before grabbing the glass ball and uses his right. It's on the bonus documentary with the DVD.

  • Orsen Welles did always love creativity. I wonder how he'd've felt about this. I laughed, anyway.

  • Obviously that was fake, it said so at the end. Well made though, I liked the irish accent.

  • oh shut up with your need picking previous comments!!!!! lighten up,

its very funny I loved it, particularly the 'marys linen' bit -

  • What on Earth? The person who played Kane was the director, so what sense does this have. Good idea, but not the best choice of application for it.

  • id imagine orson had a stage director, tallent director or assistant director or something to help him out with a third person perspective.

of course i doubt it was some guy with a goofy accent ;-p

  • gu88766 has a point, if you starred in a movie you directed you'd need a stage director for all the seens with you in it and the scenes with out you, are directed by you.

  • lame

  • progresive use, no one who knows shit about the movie will fall for it, tough (mainley becuase headline said "directed by" orson wels)

  • hauhauahua funny.

  • this is a master in his time and now.,how could you !!!!!

  • Fucking dickhead - didn't even made totally lame, unfunny video, tricking people into seeing it - asshole!!!

  • WTF, That wasn't funny. Make your own shity videos, don't use fantastic movies like citzen Kane, FYI this was one of the deepest scenes in the movie, Orson Welles put so much in it, and you made this crap! DISGUSTING, conewells you said it all!

  • kind of cute ......

  • I think its a lovely tribute. Good comedy idea.

  • GREAT idea. LOL.

  • damn man....ure so freakin funny....haha...love it...just wish i had it b4 u....haha....

  • you dooo realise that orson welles was the director AND the main actor right? so... how is he talking to himself? funny but... seeing as i have to do a film school assignment on this movie by tomorrow... needed a laugh.

  • Hiilarious! I can still appreciate the movie after watching this, why can't everyone else that says its bad. Its just a bit of humour

  • UNFUNNY AS SHIT, asshole. Create your own crap and stop using other peoples' work. Fucking moron.

  • Don't you have a sense of humor? Chill out, man.

  • you're a hoot:)

  • yeah, this is terrible.

  • Disgraceful. This is the sort of desecration of his work that Welles spent his life fighting. Stupid, silly stuff. What's wrong? Can't you get enough pleasure from the original?

  • Don't you people have a sense of humor? I thought this was pretty funny. It doesn't prevent me from enjoying the original (which is pretty funny in it's own way as well, by the way).

  • "Arsin! grab the ball there, it's gonna caaauuullllm you. It's gonna caaaauuuulllllm you." Funny stuff, funny stuff.

  • he actually hurt himself during this scene and was bleeding, but kept goin

  • I almost bought this, until I heard the director's voice... it wasn't Orsen Welles... it's funny, I think welles would have gotten a kick out of it, it is a bit of a let down that it's not authentic.

  • You thought "Orsen" Welles was directing himself? Bwahahahahaha!

  • a guy called john smith made a film called girl chewing gum. U should watch it.

  • Ha, nice one maddog! Well Spotted.

  • this isnt a lost take you idiot. i saw this in the movie

  • Brilliant!!! Orson would have loved it!!!!

  • "Arson"? Ha ha, funny. Don't apologize, if Welles had seen it he'd be literally bursting with laughter.

  • Ok this is funny!!!!

  • Man, you got my hopes up that this was real judging by the description. Still, nice narration and fairly well done.
