I loooove Anne in this movie...but somehow she seems a lot different and more outspoken than the Anne in the books. Montgomery's Anne is definitely more of a dreamer. Ah well, I love them both <3

@vettea212 ..The series is in 4 parts. Anne of Green gables part 1-2..Then Anne of Green Gables the Sequel part 1 and part2. Don't watch the rest of the series after that.They are Horrible!!! I was sooo disapointed, with the others after the ones I mentioned. Trust me..

I'm sorry to tell you that this is not Anne Shirley. Anne Shirley played in the movies in the thirties. This looks to be a movie made in the 80's or so? Anne Shirley would have been a very mature lady by this time.

But also, if you want to, you can look up the actress Anne Shirley who played in several movies back in the thirties...I guess she just adopted the name of the character she played in the movie, "Anne of Green Gables" also made in the thirties. Wikipedia should have information about her. She also played in the movie, "Stella Dallas". : )

I totally understand your frustration; I've got it too, roseSCC9.

But beyond the reasons she gives on the bridge, the movie already establishes that Anne doesn't like good guys, she wants a man who can be wicked but wouldn't.

It's a ridiculous reason, but they have to keep the lovers apart somehow, long enough so when they get back together at the end it's a relief.

In the meantime we all suffer.
