As for Iraq, Sadaam violated a cease-fire agreement set in motion during the Clinton era. Part of that agreement was that he destroy his WMD's, report to the UN when he had done so, and then allow American inspectors into his country to make sure. The report he sent to the UN was along the lines of "How dare you ask this of me?" Clinton did nothing about it. When Bush got in office, he sent Sadaam a message warning him to cooperate. Sadaam basically said "screw you", and thus, the war.

This economic crisis isn't only the Republicans fault. Yes, the Republicans deregulated.. but Clinton was the one who started the investigation on these banks because he didn't think it was fair that they weren't giving loans to lower income people. The democrats were pushing for this to happen. The Republicans sat on their butt and watched it happen.. and Barney Frank (Dem) was supposed to be in charge of the oversight - and he did nothing.
To blame the Republicans alone is just silly.

The US has been cycling in 8 year boom and recession cycles for the past 20 some odd years. Anyone who looks into this sees that much. When Bush sr was in office the economy became sluggish and in a recession but... at about the end of Bush Sr.'s term the recession was easing up and the economy was starting to head in the right direction. Clinton had little to do with that. Afterwards, the economy picked up. Unfortunately a torpedo was launched with a revised CRA. Here we are now. Thax clinton.
