  • to bad it does save more energy and it doesn't take no 16 minutes to turn on.... FAKE VIDEO>>>TOTALLY FAKE!!!!!!!!!

  • David Cross meets John Lithgow?

This was physically painful to watch.. It's too bad "the world went and got itself in a great big hurry".. Is it true the prius isn't as earth friendly as people would like to think? I'm sure the Color Cube has a clock on board. Why not have it power up at say 7:45 am and then power down at say 6 pm? Time settings should be adjustable, of course.

  • the xerox can be programmed to turn on and off at a specific time. that is it can programmed to automatically turned on 20 minutes before you open and maybe 15 minutes after leaving. i realize this is a joke, but for any business owner watching this...it's really not an issue.

  • We'll write some wanker lines for the opposition's customers, we'll drop in some cool references for "our side" - hey, someone Google things that IT people say that we can use in the video - and then it will go viral and... gee, only 20000 views in 3 years? But we got a professional cameraman for this... how could it not go viral? We better have another meeting to talk about it - maybe we didn't drop in enough cool IT references...

  • I have had some 8860MFPs for 2years..

    1.Printer turns on quickly enough

2.I does have power saving and is energy star compliant

3.To recycle toners cars burn petrol to collect them so mute point on the power green factor of laser toner recycling.

4.It’s three times cheaper to run than a laser printer. My company just had a quote from Cannon and that was the closest they could come.

5.The maintenance kit creates far less waste than the fuser and transfer rollers laser printers use.

  • Solid ink cuts landfill waste by 90 percent, and the solid ink is biodegradable and using far less energy and chemical waste to produce. I am a Cannon rep (previously xerox rep) and I wish we had something as green as this. It’s tough to compete with Xerox and their proven environmental solid ink.

But I will say that hummer joke was hilarious. So good job with humor but not quite the truth.

  • I wnat one for the office then I can "Skive off' while it warms up.

  • Where do you get your energy from? Having trucks deliver stuff all the time would NOT be good for the environment. Also, it has been proven that recycle of paper is less environmental then just burning it up... I work at a paper factory that recycles, so I do know for sure.

Actually, powerplants, water based energy, wind energy etc. is environmental friendy. Not old powerplants, but upcoming is. I am an electrician, so I heard the news. Use less recycling, more timed electronics like Solid Ink.

  • When ever did "energy" become a enviroment threat?? have anyone heard of a new thing called harvest sunpower, windpower, tidalpower?? Its up to YOU as a consumer to chose where your electricity comes from!

  • polar bears are NOT endangered

  • Laser printers don't have print head

  • "Laser printers don't have print head"

    Wrong.

Laser printers do have a print head.

The laser/mirror motor assembly in a laser printer is called the print head.

  • it doesnt use ink, it uses a mixture of wax and other "stuff". its based off the old Textronix wax printer. but somewhat improved.

still they dont advertise you have to turn it off. pisses me off quite a bit after i bought one.

  • they also use foreign support people. i had to hang up on the one i got. i couldn't understand half of what he said.

  • "all standard laser printers do the same thing during the calibration process, ink is purged to clean the print heads"

    ?? :-/

    Laser printers don't use ink.

  • I meant toner, semantics

  • "I meant toner, semantics"

Toner is purged to clean the print head in a laser printer? :-/

  • but isn't Energystar compliance important?

  • Sean Hancock is awesome!

  • i love this thing lol my dad works where this was shot pretty sweet huh? but he is not in the video

  • So plug it into one of those cheap appliance timers, and set the timer to turn on/off at the beginning/end of the business day.

  • Disregard. Bad idea, now that I know about the ink wasted on powering up the printer.

  • And I also read on the internet that the printer can be programmed to power on/off at specific times, so an appliance timer is unnecessary.

  • So plug it into one of those cheap appliance timers, and set the timer to turn on/off at the beginning/end of the business day.

  • Oops. Reposted due to delay in YouTube showing submitted posts.

  • solid ink is the best. I think we all leave the printers on.

  • Wow, you gotta love industrial propaganda!

HP dissing on Xerox...what a shocker! They must be pretty worried about solid-ink to go to this much trouble.

(Btw, this video WAS posted by HP's LaserJet Marketing team, as least that's what the ID for LJBvideos states...)

PS - You guys need to tighten up your security if a polar bear can get onsite after-hours and unplug your printers.

Speaking of that, just how many solid-ink printers do you guys have?

    LOL,

    -Perry

  • You wouldn't happen to be employed by Xerox, would you Perry? :P
